Salary Range: $19,000 to $30,000 / Per Year Open Period: 1/14/2019 to 1/14/2020

Summary:
Chugachmiut is the Tribal consortium created to promote self-determination to the seven Native communities of the Chugach Region. We provide health and social services, education and training, and technical assistance to the Chugach Native people in a way which is acceptable to Native cultural values and tradition in order to enhance the well-being of our people by continuing to strengthen the tribes and increase self-determination opportunities for community operated tribal programs.
This is a level III position or higher. This position will work with Community Health Aides and Practitioners to provide health services to beneficiaries and be responsible for successfully completing all training sessions required to obtain certification as a Community Health Practitioner.

This position is responsible for clinic administrative duties as assigned, purchasing/inventory, schedule patient appointments, patient check in, assist with patient care. Primary responsibilities include provision of primary health care services in the village and emergencies within the boundaries of the village. Job requires emergency patient escort at physician request, and traveling via small, single engine aircraft.

Health aides are to follow their medical standing orders (MSO) from the Summary sheets and the Community Health Aide Manual and are to communicate with the regional physician, referral physician, or ANMC ER physician on-call when difficult, questionable or problems arise that are outside of the CHA's medical standing orders (MSO) during an emergency. All Health Aides are regional providers and are expected to provide an annual minimum of 2 weeks clinical coverage in a village clinic other than their assigned village clinic. Duties: 1.

Maintain clinic during regular business hours. 2. Maintain a daily clinic schedule of 7.5 hours in the clinic. 3. Performs clinic administrative duties and tasks (In the absence of a Health Administrative Assistance) See Attachment B. 4.

Maintains a clean and organized work area and cleans up own coffee or food containers daily. 5. Has a basic understanding of topics covered in Session I and Session II. Is able to examine the body systems presented in Session I and Session II.

Has developed skills taught in Session I and Session II. See Attachment A. 6. Provide emergency call after clinic hours as needed and according to the established on-call schedule, earning one paid week off for every 3 weeks of on-call completed. 7.

Uses Telemedicine cart and all telemedicine equipment or EHR for every patient encounter to enhance patient care. 8. Provide acute and emergency care patient services. 9. Provide preventative health care patient services. 10.

Provide chronic patient care services. 11. Complete required medical and program reports and maintain medical records system, program filing system and EHR. 12. Maintain medicines, supplies, and emergency equipment according to lean principles with an inventory and pull system; complete an inventory weekly and order as needed to maintain the established PAR levels. 13.

Maintain clinic library including drug and transport references. 14. Coordinate maintenance repairs, janitorial services for the clinic facility and upkeep of clinic equipment. 15. Coordinate village clinic patient services with the Council, Chugachmiut and other appropriate organizations. 16.

Provide public health education and participate in community health programs. 17. Provide village residence education workshops on disease prevention/health promotion. 18. Educate village residents on preventive dental program. 19.

Coordinates with the Public Health Nurse provider on TB management for all age groups in the community, enter all ppd's into RPMS or VacTrak. 20. Provide school age group examinations, immunizations, and well child evaluations on as needed basis, enter all immunizations into RPMS. 21. Attend medical training, weekly provider teleconferences and annual CHA Forum.

Must go to one out of village CME per year. 22. Authorize patient travel from community to provider site by Contract health Care guidelines on as needed basis. 23. Comply with and maintain Clinic with regards to OSHA regulations concerning infectious waste, hazardous waste, quality control, etc. 24.

Contact Regional health providers, Referral Physician, ANMC physician, ANMC ER physician on call or designee via telephone or EHR regarding every patient encounter as mandated by CHAM or MSO. 25. Perform home visits as requested for those unable to come to the clinic. 26. Provide intermittent prenatal exams as needed. 27.

Maintain and upgrade health aide skills list records on an as needed basis. 28. Maintain and utilize emergency equipment as needed. 29. Maintain health surveillance activities. 30.

Maintain PEF form and Daily Medical Log on all patients seen; use the Emergency PEF and telemedicine cart for all after hours patients. 31.

Monitor patients continually on medications in villages and on a referral basis, especially the elderly and those with reading difficulties. 32. Utilize Health Aide Manual for every patient encounter.
