  • Undergraduate degree required, with majors in Business, Finance or Economics preferred.

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in managing charitable giving programs and/or employee involvement programs as a senior manager with budget authority.

  • Advanced experience in corporate community involvement. Training and/or Certification in Corporate Community Involvement is preferred.

  • Advanced experience in marketing, public relations and brand management is preferred.

  • Advanced experience in managing local, regional and national sponsorships for corporate involvement is preferred.

  • Ability and strong desire to interact with internal and external partners on a daily basis.

  • Must exhibit excellent oral, written and listening skills, and the ability to work and communicate with various partners.

  • Proven experience in organizing, facilitating, leading and negotiating teams of bank personnel to solve customer and partner issues.

  • Demonstrated experience in meeting deadlines, maintaining difficult schedules, managing multiple projects, and working independently.

  • Capable of functioning in a team environment while executing individual responsibilities.

  • Proven experience in event planning and management skills, to include creative development, organization of events, marketing and promotion, execution, and delivery of target goals.

  • Experience in charitable giving compliance management and philanthropic opportunity identification, screening, and relationship management preferred.

  • Ability to travel regionally on a regular basis and work after hours and on weekends when necessary.

General Summary:

The Manager, Community Giving will be responsible for managing the Office of Community Giving, acting as the departments primary liaison to executive leadership and local market management from every line of business with regard to community investments (grants, sponsorships), managing the companys charitable contributions and signature community involvement programs, creating and managing community partnerships, and managing emergency relief/disaster response for the company in the United States. This position also serves as a Senior Program Officer for the BBVA Compass Foundation, responsible for managing the operations, online platform and review/approval processes for all grant-making done by the Foundation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create partnerships with local and national non profit organizations (in education, arts & culture, health & human services, diversity & inclusion, environment & natural resources).

  • Provide monthly & quarterly reporting and leadership around progress towards goals.

  • Guide market leaders in appropriate resource allocation for community commitments necessary to develop an outstanding Corporate Responsibility program.

  • Conduct training to ensure bank personnel understand the community giving program and is able to offer value-added consultation on community involvement throughout the bank footprint.

  • Manage compliance with BBVA Compass Foundation governance and IRS guidelines.

  • Meet BBVA Compass Foundation focus area targets for giving.

  • Serve as the Program Officer for Education and Arts & Culture in the BBVA Compass Foundation, to include customer calls, evaluations, public relations, committee meetings and final decisions, while also assisting with contribution requests.

  • Collaborate with the Employee Involvement Manager for the successful execution of the employee giving program and the employee volunteer program through the same online platform used for grant-making.

  • Call on community partners as customers for business and branding opportunities, and look for opportunities to provide community services, including: training/workshops, internal/external organizational development, and fundraising.

  • Collaborate with External/Internal Communications, as well as Marketing, and provide leadership in responding to major reputation issues, crisis events and public image management.

  • Represent BBVA Compass in local communities, to include speechmaking, Conferences, and Public relations, while responsible for reputation statistics and performance.

The Community Manager is responsible for all operations of the apartment community with the primary objectives of increasing the net operating income of the community, maintaining the physical asset, providing for a quality living environment for residents and establishing a positive, productive working relationship with the community staff. This position is utilized as a floater position to be assigned to a variety of communities as needed. The Community Manager performs these duties personally. The Community Manager is under limited supervision. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job supervises more than two (2) team members. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of one year residential property management experience including supervisory responsibilities is required. 2 or more years is preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills necessary. Prefer sales/multi-family leasing experience and/or hospitality industry and/or product sales. Marketing and budgeting experience preferred. Computer literacy, including experience with computerized property management and / or accounting software desired. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * A flexible work week schedule is required. * Provides information about the apartments and the community to the prospective resident and schedules visits to the community. Responsible for leasing apartments at established rental rates as determined by the Regional Property Manager and noted on the rental price advice. * Accurately and efficiently prepares and assists with all leasing paperwork (i.e. applications, lease agreements, addenda, employment checks, credit checks and leasing move-in packets.) * Collects security deposits, rent and all other funds associated with resident moves. Safeguards monies received consistent with Company policy. * Monitors the effectiveness of overall marketing efforts and offers input and suggestions to the Regional Property Manager in regards to promotions, advertisements, etc. Maintains an ad book and demographics. Completes follow-up thank you notes and call backs with prospects after initial visit in a timely fashion (24 hours). * Strives to continuously meet or exceed resident satisfaction benchmarks. * Maintains an accurate and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the community, particularly in areas such as rent and pricing information, market comps, vacancies, apartment availability, lease expirations, square footage, etc. * Inspects marketing path and all vacant apartments on a regular basis to ensure they are ready to show to prospective residents. * Ensures all vacant apartments are market-ready, including painting, carpet cleaning, general repairs, etc., within 48 hours of becoming vacant. * Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises all on-site employees under the direction of the Regional Property Manager. Coaches and counsels on-site employees and conducts annual performance reviews. Handles disciplinary action including terminations with RPM approval. * Conducts community staff meetings on a regular basis. Attends management meetings when scheduled. * Develops an integral team that effectively sells the quality and professionalism of the Wilkinson Asset Management Properties, including courteous attitude when dealing with residents, subordinates, co-workers, vendors and the general public. * Responsible for coaching community staff on common on-site tools. * Completes competitive surveys on a regular basis. Analyzes and monitors the community market conditions in order to anticipate market changes or trends that could affect the profitability of the community. * Oversees, develops and participates in various leasing training programs to ensure their success. * Executes/serves notices and demands in accordance with Company policy upon residents delinquent in their rent or who have breached other terms of their lease. * Monitors closing ratios for self and leasing associates (where applicable) to ensure requirements are met. Recommends additional training for self and/or leasing associates if necessary. * Reviews all lease renewals and initiates rent/fee changes according to the operating budget, rental price advice, market conditions and/or as directed by Regional Property Manager.
