Community Events Coordinator - More Than Words

The purpose of this project is to create the tools, resources, and knowledgebase that improves More Than Words' ability to empower system-involved young adults within the MTW model. Working directly with the Associate Director of Retail & Events, the Community Events VISTA will play a critical role in creating systems and networks to activate the store space to foster community, create higher level skill building within the job training program, and raise awareness of the More Than Words mission and model.

This is an in-person role and More Than Words has a COVID-19 vaccination policy in place that requires all staff and service members be full vaccinated and boosted, when eligible, against the virus. Individuals who are not vaccinated due to a sincerely held religious belief, medical reasons, or other legally protected reason are able to apply and be considered for an exemption to this requirement. Member Duties : The Community Events Coordinator will engage with our youth participants and collaborate with our staff to create exciting events in our space, expand our audience and create partnerships with potential speakers, performers and sponsors. The VISTA will also coordinate and facilitate free community event space "rentals" for external stakeholders.
