Overview Hospice Community Engagement Coordinator To cover Pittsburgh and Butler PA. FREQUENT TRAVELLING (80%) REQUIRED Monday

  • Friday 8am

  • 5pm required to attend events Weeknights and/or Weekends. Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Social Work or Education.

    Experience working in Volunteer Services, Community Outreach, or Event Coordination. Proficiency in using computers, the internet, email, and social media. Attractive pay $25.00 - $28.00 + mileage + Benefits (This is not a remote position) Responsible for connecting our organization with the communities we serve and increasing awareness and understanding of hospice services.

    This role fosters positive relationships with and organizes outreach efforts in the community and builds brand awareness. Responsible for engaging with community members, healthcare professionals, and local organizations as well as leading the We Honor Veterans programming and supporting the Regional Hospice Volunteer Coordinator in volunteer recruitment and coordination efforts. Responsibilities Develops and implements outreach to targeted individuals, community partners, civic organizations, faith-based groups, and the community within the service area to enhance awareness of Amedisys Hospice services.

    Plans and implements community engagement activities and events such as surveys, focus groups, public forums, town halls, workshops, parades, and charity drives.

    Works closely and partners with the Regional Volunteer Coordinator and the Business Development Liaisons to drive community engagement. Provides information about the organization's mission, programs, and activities to the community.

    Collects feedback from community members and gathers data on community needs to inform program development and improvements.

    Performs regular ride-alongs with Hospice Liaisons to help build multi-point relationships in the community with referral sources. Leads the We Honor Veterans programming at the hospice care centers.

    Collaborates in the development of content for Amedisys internal publications promoting community and volunteer activities.

    Assists in volunteer recruitment and leads community relations events through social media. Prepares materials (invitations, programs, fliers) for distribution.

    Promotes the organization's mission and services through a variety of channels, including social media and local media outlets.

    Collaborates with the Volunteer Services team to develop a recruitment and retention plan to market all volunteer opportunities and roles, including but not limited to hosting and attending community recruiting events, assisting with interviewing potential volunteers, and coordinating volunteers to help with community projects or events. Collaborates with the Bereavement Corporate Assistant on care center memorial service planning.

    May coordinate and facilitate community grief support offerings in collaboration with the Regional Bereavement Coordinator and local care center chaplain and social worker.

    Complies with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including but not limited to abiding to the terms of the Amedisys Compliance Program. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Social Work, Education, or related field; in lieu of degree, three (3+) years of experience in a related field can be substituted.

    Proficiency in using computers, the internet, email, and social media.

    Preferred: Two (2+) years of experience navigating, building, or managing programs. Experience working in volunteer services, community outreach, or event coordination.
