The Organization of Liberians in Minnesota (OLM) pivots as the umbrella organization for all Liberian immigrants residing in Minnesota. OLM serves the very large Liberian immigrant community and other immigrant communities when needed.
Our services include: Youth Enrichment Program, After School Program, Program for the Elderly (Seniors Program), Health Awareness, Immigration and Community Advocacy, Civic Engagement and Community Outreach, Other Social Services such as (mentorship, referrals, job applications assistance etc). VISTA Project Goal/Position Description The Community Engagement and Capacity Building Specialist will assist in the development and capacity building, which will include the implementation of building database, fundraising, creating awareness, and developing mechanisms to improve the organization's visibility and sustainability. The capacity building program aims to make the organization more fermentable to the Liberian community, other immigrant communities and the larger American society.
The fundraising mechanism aim to improve the organization's financial capacity in order to sustain its operations and programs on an ongoing basis. The capacity-building program aims to invigorate the ability of its executives and staffs on how to operate an immigrant community-based nonprofit organization and how to articulate its mission without blemish.
