About Common Energy

Common Energy is revolutionizing the energy sector. Our platform enables virtually anyone to connect their utility account to a new clean energy project, lower carbon emissions, and save money on their electricity. There is no on-site installation and signing up only takes two minutes. As such, we are a clean energy accelerator, and key part of the solution to mitigate global climate change.

Common Energys board and advisors include executives from Facebook, Google and President Obamas cabinet. We are seeking full-time and part-time Community Energy Advocates to bring more clean energy to communities across the US.

About The Impact Team
Common Energy's Impact Team is our community engagement team focused on bringing local, clean energy to the electrical grid. Our goal is to mobilize individuals and communities to sign up for local solar projects in their area in order to prevent millions of pounds of carbon emissions and save money. Our program is grounded in principles of equity, empowerment, and mitigating climate change through clean energy!

The Role
As a Community Energy Advocate you will leverage your personal and professional contacts to inspire others to sign up for local solar projects. These projects directly lower carbon emissions and because this is an official state program, everyone who signs up saves money, guaranteed.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete Common Energys Engagement Training and become an expert in clean energy and community solar, learning from some of the countrys top sustainability leaders
  • Reach out to your personal network to explain how community solar works and enroll people in free, local, community solar projects!
  • Lower pollution and emissions in your community, and save people money
  • Participate in local Common Energy events (virtually or if possible, in person)
  • Become part of a broader community of climate activists and sustainability professionals
  • Contribute to a fun, positive Team environment!

Requirements

Who Were Looking For:

  • You are passionate about clean energy and driving positive impact in your community!
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and love inspiring others to act
  • You are results-driven and want to work to mitigate global climate change
  • You are able to work remotely (this requires internet access for presenting over video call!)
  • You have contacts you can reach out to in a region where we operate (upstate NY, MD, ME, southern MN, IL, and the Boston area).

VIEW JOBS 10/16/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-01-14T00:00 The Community Based Research Coordinator will participate in a COVID 19 research project led by prominent researchers at MGH, funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute. This study joins together federal funding, researchers, and six leading human service providers to reduce COVID-19 incidence, illness, and mortality among people with disabilities living in group homes. To this end, the study will compare the effectiveness of Screening, Isolation, Contact Tracing, and Personal Protective Practices used in group homes throughout eastern MA. Based upon results of computer modeling to simulate the spread of Covid 19 in group homes, research staff will design Tailored Best Practices to improve outcomes. The Coordinator will assist with data collection among the provider organizations and identify participants, recruit for and facilitate all workgroups and advisory groups in conjunction with MGH researchers. Community Based Research Coordinator also: * Assists with data collection among the six provider organizations on COVID-19 incidence, testing, screening, isolation, contract tracing, and PPE practices in their group homes. * Identifies and recruits residents, family members, and front-line staff for the workgroups which will be formed to ensure stakeholder involvement in the project. * Supports residents, family members, and staff during the workgroups and advisory groups, to include addressing technology needs to access virtual sessions. * Facilitates workgroups and advisory groups in conjunction with MGH researchers. * Collects and synthesizes feedback from the workgroups on: o Tailored Best Practices (TBPs) related to Screening (testing for active Covid 19 virus or antibodies for past infection), Isolation (within the group home or in an alternative care setting for infected individuals); Contact Tracing (staff and/or residents), and Personal Protective Practices (hand hygiene, physical distancing, use of face masks) * Training content and processes developed related to TBPs * Develops aggregate study results from workgroup and advisory group feedback to disseminate to key stakeholder audiences participating in the study including residents, family members of residents, residential staff and managers, advocacy organizations, provider-based organizations, DMH, DDS, and EOHHS. * Contributes to the development of training materials and facilitates their review by the workgroups and advisory groups. * Performs other related duties, as assigned.
