We are currently recruiting for a Community Employment Program Specialist (CEPS) position for the Psychosocial Treatment Program at Central Regional Hospital. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Sit on various committees within the hospital working collaboratively with other committee members to enhance the lives of the patients served.

  • Assist with client's job placement plan, learning the job skills, duties, and expectations of employers.

  • Assessing patient's living skills, completing job readiness evaluations, developing a client job-placement plan, learning the job skills, duties, and expectations of employers, breaking the job down into manageable components, training the client to perform the job duties, and providing on-site supervision and support for the client.

  • Assist clients to meet vocational, academic, and leisure development goals.

  • Completion of patient worker assessment and on-going assessments.

  • Work with patients and treatment teams to develop a plan of action to assist patients who are having difficulty within their position and present the plan to the PST Advisor.

  • Assist with other departmental initiatives that benefit patients in an academic and leisure pursuits at CRH.

  • Plan and participate in the development of specialized activities to enhance patient's well-being and treatment.

This position reports to the Community Employment Program Manager to assure that the treatment components are clinically sound and integrated with the hospital and department's clinical objectives and standards.  

This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits program.  The normal work hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m-4:00 p.m. with flexibility and occasional weekend hours to meet the needs of the program.  This position is deemed Mandatory during adverse weather conditions.

  • Knowledge of characteristics of psychiatric illness.

  • Ability to instruct in a group/classroom setting.

  • Ability to complete an initial patient work assessment as well as ongoing assessments when needed.

  • Ability to relate to patients in a supportive and therapeutic manner.

  • Applicant must successfully complete all required initial one-time trainings, Trauma Informed Care training, and hospital/clinical orientations.  Successful annual completion of hospital training, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training, discipline specific trainings, and required departmental training. Successful completion of CPR certification every two years as well as any just-in-time training related to changes in hospital/departmental policies and/or corrective actions.

Management preference:  Willing to obtain CDL to meet programming needs upon hire.Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience." If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both. Associate's degree in a Human Services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience working with the population served;

or

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience providing instruction to individuals with one or more disabilities, preferably involving task analysis;

or

an equivalent combination of education and experience
