Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA) is dedicated to saving lives through organ and tissue donation and transplantation. KODA is looking for a compassionate, accountable, and dedicated candidate to join the team as a full time Community Educator for our West Virginia service area. The Community Educator is responsible for activities related to the promotion of organ and tissue donation and transplantation and the donor registry primarily, but not limited to, the Circuit Court Clerks, West Virginia, Eastern Kentucky and Appalachian populations (extensive travel is required).
The responsibilities of this position include public speaking, community education program planning and implementation, recruiting and managing volunteers, assisting with social media and web content, engaging communities, expanding media relationships in West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky as well as various administrative duties. Duties will be performed throughout Trust For Life and KODA's service area. This position requires extensive travel to and around West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky areas, including mountainous and unkempt roads. Must be willing to drive or travel 2-4 hours at a time regularly, or more on occasion.
Minimum Qualifications for this position are as follows:
College degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, or education
Must have successful experience with building relationships with key partners such as Media, Schools, Circuit Clerks, Deputy Clerks, Coroners, Hospitals, and Volunteers
Demonstrated experience and a desire to conduct public speaking
Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to prioritize and remain organized and diligent with planning meetings, events and school programs
Must have experience with collecting and analyzing data, maintaining database and preparing reports
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
