Community Director

The Community Director (CD) is a full-time, 12-month live-in, exempt position at Webster University. The CD coordinates the formative, administrative, and staff functions for a residential area housing approximately 340 - 450 beds. The CD will supervise 6 - 15 Resident Assistants (RAs). The CD will guide paraprofessional staff in administration, community development, and educational efforts.

The CD plays a critical role in the safety and security of the residential community serving in the leadership staff on-call rotation; responding to resident-related and facilities emergencies. The CD assists with the management of the overall administration of the housing system, takes on the role of a student conduct officer, campus security authority, and assists with the coordination of staff selection, training, and evaluation. The CD also plays a central role in student retention efforts in coordination with Student Affairs divisional efforts.

Community Directors assigned to the apartments will coordinate and direct departmental operations with property managers at off-campus space, oversee desk operations, and coordinate the student staff employment process (e.g. recruitment, hiring, accountability). Community Directors assigned to residence halls will oversee the community development model, programming, and advise housing student organizations. CDs will take the lead on summer camps & conferences, student staff training, departmental projects, and support campus initiatives (move-in/out, recruitment events, etc).
