The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for a Part-Time Community Development Administrative Assistant that will be based at the Oxbow Center in St. Paul, VA. This role will provide operational and administrative support for the college's community development efforts and programming, including assisting the Community Development Manager, Associate Vice Chancellor of Community and Economic Development, and other staff and leadership as needed, by performing well-defined office, operation, and duties of a routine and repetitive nature under close supervision.

The range of duties includes, but not limited to the following:

  • Performs routine office support activities

  • Scheduling

  • Meeting Set-Up

  • Customer Service/Receptionist

  • Reporting

  • Task Monitoring

  • Performs routine office support activities

  • Applies knowledge of basic office practices, procedures, and equipment (i.e. telephone, postage meter, computer, fax, copier, etc.)

  • Other various job responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associate Degree Preferred

Experience: Some up to four years

Licensure: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
