Job Description

Community Data Coordinator (Job Opening 455137) - The Ohio State University is seeking Community Data Coordinators to assist in the data governance aspects of a new initiative, Optimizing Healing in Ohio Communities (OHiO). This position will be located in Hamilton County, Ohio. The goal of the OHiO project is to systematically plan, implement, and evaluate data-driven approaches that integrate evidence based interventions within healthcare, behavioral health, justice systems, and communities to reduce opioid overdose deaths in 19 highly affected counties around the State.

As part of this 4 year project, we seek to engage community representatives from agencies and organizations across a wide range of sectors involved in mental health and substance abuse (public health, justice, law enforcement, housing, etc.) to develop consensus on a mechanism for multi?sector data sharing that would improve coordination of opioid related activities and interventions. The goal is to develop community-based integrated data systems that will link data across agencies and enable communities, providers, researchers, and the government to understand the complex, interconnected issues fueling the opioid epidemic across that State. These systems will also provide data to evaluate a series of evidence based interventions and help organizations adhere to program fidelity.

THE POSITION: This role entails managing the data governance and integration aspects of the OHiO project for one or two communities. The Community Data Coordinator will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, facilitating organizational and community discussions around data and data sharing, and assisting with data sharing agreements.

Once project data systems are developed, the community data coordinator will work with the data team to ensure quality data collection by serving as a liaison between the project data core and the community. The successful candidate will be skilled in developing relationships and have an understanding of social science research approaches and content.
