Job Description: Benefits Supplemental Questions
To manage the operations of the Killeen Community Center under the general supervision of the Director of Volunteer Services.
Supervises 5 employees.
Essential Duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes, coordinates and markets programs, services and events hosted at the Killeen Community Center.
Researches, analyzes and monitors reservation trends of the Killeen Community Center.
Drafts and submits preliminary operating budget to Director of Volunteer Services for final submission for approval.
Drafts and finalizes weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports summarizing reservation activity of the Killeen Community Center.
Implements annual operating budget to ensure compliance with city policies and procedures.
Ensures expenditures are done in compliance with approved budget and do not exceed available funding.
Serves as liaison between potential rental customers for the Killeen Community Center.
Develops and implements a comprehensive customer service program designed to ensure the needs of patrons of the Killeen Community Center are met.
Designs and implements a strategy for marketing the Killeen Community Center as a viable location for meetings, banquets and festivals.
Conducts presentations, tours and public outreach to solicit facility reservations of the Killeen Community Center.
Prepares and maintains performance and statistical reports related to facility reservations.
Develops and delivers presentations as needed to promote the Killeen Community Center as a viable meeting space for various events and activities.
Evaluates employees' job performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Ensures customers adhere to facility rules and that amenities associated with the reservation are available for patrons.
Maintains up to date log of all amenities / accessories of the Killeen Community Center.
Identifies maintenance issues and submits work orders to ensure the timely completion of maintenance within the Killeen Community Center.
Performs other related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Seeks reservations from cultural / special interest groups to utilize the Killeen Community Center.
Responds to public inquiries about recreation programs made by telephone, correspondence, or during public meetings.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance
Maintains and possesses a valid driver's license and comply with City of Killeen Handbook policies.
Serves as a member of various employee committees, as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in management or business; and
One (1) year experience in facility management; and
One (1) year of experience in a supervisory capacity; or
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of facility management, planning and administration; considerable knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used in the maintenance of a community center.
Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment;
Ability to identify and address patron issues associated with renting a facility.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, agencies, civic groups, governmental agencies, instructors and community leaders.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to plan and supervise the work of subordinates: ability to implement a comprehensive and effective marketing plan to include social media and print publications
Supplemental Information:SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid driver's license or obtain one by date of hire.
Must have a Texas driver's license within 6 months of date of hire.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Personal computer, including word processing software; calculator; copy and fax machines; phone; mobile or portable radio; automobile; Kroy machine; typewriter; overhead projector; television and VCR; various sports equipment used in recreation programs. Safety equipment as required.
