The Electronic Systems Segment (ESS) provides a broad range of aerospace systems, security and detection systems, and pilot training. AMI is a leading supplier of integrated electro-mechanical assemblies to commercial and military prime contractors. The company designs equipment to meet client specifications and manufactures high-precision components to produce high-quality assemblies. Products include special purpose instruments, maritime vessel control panels, power supply and distribution assemblies, and surface vehicle and power generating plant control assemblies. The Business Development Manager will function as a business development contact for issues pertaining to high technology aviation and maritime simulation hardware design and production. Key position responsibilities include: * Conduct business development activities, associated with internal and external prospects within the simulation and training marketplace, including market research and analysis, strategic business planning, new business forecasting and capture, and bidding proposal activities * Develop outstanding business relationships with customers that will continue to bring credibility and respect to the AMI business and organization * Conduct marketing/sales activities of products and/or services to government agencies or private firms doing government business * Understand customer decision-making and funding process * Find new business opportunities, validate opportunity, define customer requirements and participate in the transition of effort to a Capture Manager to conduct the proposal and capture effort * Maintain key marketing/sales contacts with civilian and military community as appropriate Our Values are an integral part of who we are. We seek candidates who share our values: * Integrity * Excellence * Accountability * Respect * Bachelors Degree in business or technical field; MBA preferred * Candidates must have 6 years of directly related experience (military or civilian) in the defense manufacturing industry and a thorough understanding of strategic planning and new business capture processes, methods and techniques * Demonstrated success marketing/selling intangible solutions and capabilities to Fortune 500 OEM's of complex electro-mechanical systems and subsystems * Ability to conduct market analysis and match company's capabilities to market needs and opportunities * Demonstrated success developing new market entry strategies for capturing manufacturing, assembly and engineering projects of complex electro-mechanical systems and subsystems * The position requires coordinating and working with cross-functional teams involved in the development of business/market strategies and customer proposals * Strong communication skills to advise team members and senior management on status and/or actions required relative to existing and potential new business opportunities * Program Management experience in simulation and or training is highly desirable * Good analytical skills relating to business development process * Microsoft Office Suite skills, including PowerPoint * Ability to make formal presentations to senior decision makers * Experience developing proposals * Ability to travel 25% - 50% * Clearance: Secret (preferred) or the ability to secure a clearance * High-energy and self-driven individual that can "make things happen" without a large support organization to depend on daily and knows how to manage his/her time wisely * A personality style that is team-oriented and has the success of the customer, program, organization and business as his/her main objective SAVING LIVES AND MAKING THE WORLD A SAFER PLACE TO LIVE L3 Technologies, Inc. is proud to be an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
