West Central Human Service Center - Bismarck, ND - Community Behavioral Health Liaison

The ND Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Community Behavioral Health Liaison that will be passionate about improving access to care and promoting holistic wellness. This position will support individuals in effectively enhancing their overall health and functioning.

As a Community Behavioral Health Liaison, you will facilitate community outreach, education, and negotiation of care coordination agreements with executive leadership and partner organizations. You will assist with the transfer of health records, so individuals and their families get the essential services required for their appropriate care and treatment. Your role will involve organizing services, providers, and resource access through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and psychosocial support providers.

To thrive in this position, candidates should demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and populations. An understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices as well as comfort in delivering services in homes and communities with empathy and compassion are crucial.

To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, education, sociology, medical management, nursing or business administration and two years' experience working in a human services/ behavioral health clinic or facility. OR a master's degree in one of the above fields. Prefer knowledge of community resources and services related to healthcare, social services, and mental health.

This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.

Location: ND HHS utilizes a blended workplace model. This position provides essential client services face to face and therefore the person in this position needs to be able to travel to meet clients at their location.
