Job Description:
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville is seeking a full-time physician BE/BC in Pediatrics or in Medicine-Pediatrics to care for youth and young adults with special health care needs and to prepare them for transitioning to adult-based care. This physician will join our UF Health Multispecialty practice at the Bower Lyman Center, a collaboration with Wolfson Children's Hospital, which is an innovative, interdisciplinary primary care practice that provides comprehensive care for over 2000 infants, children, teens, and young adults who have special health care needs and may live with disabilities. The Center also offers embedded mental health and inpatient palliative care services as integral components of a comprehensive system of care.
The academic appointment will be a tenure/non-tenure accruing level of Assistant/Associate or Full Professor depending upon experience and qualifications. The position will report to the Chief of the Division of Community and Societal Pediatrics and to the Department Chair, and integrate with other initiatives in the Division.
The current team includes a pediatrician, an advanced practice provider, two nurse care coordinators, a social worker and other clinical support staff who provide primary medical care and facilitate the health care transition process to adulthood.
General Duties:
Provide clinical expertise and comprehensive care within a primary care medical-behavioral home in an outpatient setting to youth and young adults transitioning from pediatric to adult-based care who have chronic, complex medical, developmental and/or behavioral conditions.
Work with diverse academic faculty and collaborating community organizations and agencies with a commitment to advancing the rights of children, youth and young adults with complex medical conditions and disabilities.
Participate in monthly department faculty meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested. Clinical supervision and education of fellows, residents, medical students and advanced practice providers.

Expected Salary:
Salary is based on academic rank and years of experience and is guided by AAMC salary data for academic practices.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicant must possess a MD/DO degree, possess or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Florida and credentialing at area hospitals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Be board-certified in Pediatrics or in Medicine-Pediatrics.
