The Community Affairs Specialist is responsible for working with community organizations to help develop and organize a variety of programs and events including, health fairs, screenings and seminars designed to raise awareness of Englewood Health programs and services. The position will assist in developing and implementing communications strategies and tactics to achieve organizational objectives; develop and maintain excellent working relationships with a variety of stakeholders including corporate and community partners and provide overall support for department responsibilities including writing, event planning, public and media relations, reputation management, social media and digital marketing.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field. Minimum 3+ years of experience required, preferably in a hospital or health-related setting.

  • Exemplifies Service Excellence - Must maintain a positive, caring, customer-focused outlook with a strong work ethic based on honesty, self-discipline, professionalism and competency.

  • Experience with special event planning, attentiveness to details and ability to work on several projects at once and respond to shifting priorities. Assist with day of event management.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including medical and hospital staff, community partners, sponsors, vendors and suppliers, and to work effectively in a large, complex and dynamic organization to ensure top level, efficient and cost-effective programs and events.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills required. Bilingual preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Scheduler, CRM, audio/visual equipment.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field required.
