Job Description

U.S. Bank is currently seeking a Community Affairs Manager (CAM), responsible for effectively positioning U.S. Bank as a leader in the community and working closely with market leadership to achieve market/region Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals. The CAM also sets the direction for community grants, investments, and civic sponsorships, and leads strategic relationships with organizations that align to the CSR strategy to drive community, employee, and business impact.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Building and sustaining market strategic plans and grant plans, including relationships and partnerships with community, civic, and nonprofit organizations to support company objectives and help meet community needs;

  • Actively representing U.S. Bank in community and economic development initiatives by developing and maintaining strategic alliances with local advocacy organizations (where community agreements exist, serving as primary contact between bank and local organizations);

  • Guiding market leaders in achieving Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) performance relative to their respective lines of business and assisting in the formation of market action plans for CRA Lending, Investment and Service;

  • Partnering closely with the CRA Program Team to regularly review CRA performance-to-goal and, as needed, assisting with collection of information for the CRA exam and performances context, as well as providing insights on branch distribution;

  • Directing market/state Foundation grant strategy, reviewing and analyzing grant applications in accordance with established market strategy, and sharing impact reports for funded initiatives at regular, scheduled market leader meetings;

  • Directing local employee engagement strategy, including the placement of leadership on local boards and signature volunteer activities;

  • Advising leadership and Campaign Champions in preparation for the annual Employee Giving Campaign;

  • Coordinating local relief/recovery response efforts in the wake of a community crisis or natural disaster; and

  • Partnering with Communications, Government Affairs, and Marketing to communicate the impact of community partnerships, both to internal and external audiences.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of the organization's CSR programs, bank products and services

  • Well-developed ability to communicate regulatory and technical information

  • Strong strategic planning and negotiation skills

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills

  • Thorough knowledge of the CRA

  • Strong knowledge of current legislation and/or legal issues that may impact CRA

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $108,375.00 - $127,500.00 - $140,250.00
