Job Title: Communications Technician
Location: Denver City, TX

Implementing Vision and Values
Communications Specialists are responsible for the planning, coordination, installation, operation, and maintenance of Automation communications systems and equipment in production fields.
Plan and manage projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget and within specified guidelines.
Develop and implement standards on communication equipment and systems.
Identify deviations and optimize communication networks.
Provide communications training to Automation personnel.
Detect, analyze and resolve network anomalies.
Install, maintain, identify, and resolve technical issues/failures on radio and infrastructure equipment.
Establish and manage equipment inventory, provide emergency response support, and conduct preventative maintenance on communication systems.
Manage fiber optics installation, terminations and documentation.
Skills & Competencies:
Competent computer skills (MS Office Suite, MS Windows, Internet, etc.).
Strong written, oral and project management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate ability to perform strong time management skills.
Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timeline.
Knowledge of radio theory.
Demonstrated knowledge of data communications mediums including fiber optic, radio, satellite, and wire circuits.
Demonstrated knowledge of varied hardware transmission technologies including rs232, rs485 & Ethernet.
Basic understanding of electronics and circuits. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve power and signal anomalies.
Basic knowledge of RTUs. Understanding of digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of SCADA communication systems.
Knowledge of oil and gas systems.
2-year technical degree or 5-years of equivalent working experience, required
4-year technical degree, preferred.
Working knowledge of oil and gas production operations, preferred
Valid U.S. Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
Candidate must live within a 45-mile radius of the job site
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Climb ladders and stairs.
Walking, bending, stooping is required.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment that may include the use of a respirator.
Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
Professional / Technical Qualifications/Licenses/Certificatio
Fiber certification, such as Corning Fiber Certification, and splicing giver experience
Network certification, such as Network+ or CCNA.
