Jacobs is currently seeking a Communications System Engineer to support a DoD program in Arlington, VA.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
Apply in-depth technical knowledge to capture, plan and design information technology systems, tactical and strategic RF communications in support of national level requirements.
Support the formulation and execution of acquisition strategies.
Develop system requirements, model use cases, produce conceptual designs, develop technology integration strategies and design systems architectures.
Produce system CONOPS and related SDLC documentation.
Support system procurement, operational test and acceptance and system deployment activities.
Participate in activities to ensure knowledge creation/sharing and integration within and across the work program as appropriate.
Typically has a BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and five (5) years to eight (8) years of progressive, relevant experience, or an MS degree in a computer or system science and four (4) to six (6) years of progressive experience, or Ph.D. degree in a computer of system science discipline and zero (0) to three (3) years of related experience.
Experience in tactical and strategic RF communications systems.
Demonstrate working knowledge in data communications, fiber optics, video teleconferencing and cryptographic equipment.
Active TS security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
M.S. degree in System Integration, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or equivalent degree with 10 years or more of Information Technology experience preferably with a strong Radio Frequency (RF) and data communications background.

Most work will be done at a desk or computer.
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Equipment & Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
