University of Maryland, College Park College of Education Communications Specialist, Pos#124155 The College of Education at the University of Maryland is seeking a Communications Specialist to provide support to the Associate Director of Communications to help expand and raise the profile of the College of Education nationally.
The Communications Specialist is responsible for implementing strategic communications and external relations initiatives that grow the stature, reach and effectiveness of the College of Education with its various constituents (internal and external). The positon reports to and supports the Associate Director of Communications in developing all print, web, email, and social media projects for the College of Education.
S/he will manage the ongoing work of the Web Steering Committee and support the College in monitoring and enhancing web content and functionality.
Qualifications Bachelors Degree is required.
Experiences Minimum of two to four years of experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong capabilities in website design, branding, and content management Computer literacy and comfort using online tools like Prezi, Mail Chimp, E-paper Flip, Initiative and independent decision-making.
Proficiency at multi-tasking and highly developed organizational Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with communications and fundraising professionals, faculty, and staff within the College of Education, University Relations, and the Alumni Customer service oriented.
