The Communications Specialist plays a critical role in developing and executing communication strategies that align with Sono Bello's objectives and brand. This highly visible role requires a detail-oriented and adaptable professional who can engage diverse audiences and drive alignment across the organization. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can quickly pivot based on audience needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and distribute compelling content across multiple channels, including email, internal platforms (Teams, SharePoint, Smartsheet), and print materials.
- Develop and implement communication strategies that enhance engagement and drive alignment across the organization.
- Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess effectiveness, identify trends, and continuously optimize strategies.
- Adapt messaging and tone based on the audience, ensuring clarity, relevance, and impact.
- Serve as the primary communications point of contact for field team members, addressing inquiries, gathering feedback, and providing timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute campaigns, ensuring messaging aligns with brand voice and company values.
- Lead internal presentations and training sessions to promote the adoption of new programs, processes, and templates.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across all internal communication platforms.
- Own and manage the Field Communications calendar, coordinating key messaging and updates.
- Lead and execute digital landscape cleanup efforts, including deep cleanup of SharePoint (site pages, documents, libraries), rebuilding the intranet site, and enhancing communication vessels (email distributions, Teams channels, etc.) to improve efficiency and accessibility.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of the monthly newsletter, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices in corporate and field communications to drive continuous improvement.
- Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related role.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency in messaging.
- Highly organized, ensuring timely delivery of multiple projects and campaigns.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging messaging.
- Proven ability to tailor communication style to different audiences, balancing professionalism, approachability, and impact.
- High emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate sensitive topics, build relationships, and influence without authority.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams) required.
- A proactive, self-driven, and adaptable mindset - able to pivot in response to business needs and field feedback.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work onsite at the Corporate Office in Bellevue, WA for a minimum of 3 days a week. May work in remote office locations on Wednesdays and Fridays.
COMPENSATION:
This is a Non-exempt position with an hourly range of $29.00 - $36.00/hour, depending on experience.
