Communications Specialist, Senior

Key Role:

Manage the organization's day-to-day advertising or marketing, media relations, creative editorial, original content creation, and design services. Advise top management on the development of communications policies, strategic communication planning, and advertising programs, and the management of public relations issues. Provide a full scope of communications support to the federal client.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience with strategic communications

  • Knowledge of multiple standard writing styles required, including AP and Chicago styles

  • Ability to provide writing samples

  • Ability to work with executive level leadership

  • Secret clearance

  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with writing academic case studies preferred

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

  • BA/BS or MA/MS degree in Journalism, English, or Communications preferred

The candidate will work in direct support of a PhD Level program Officer at the Office of Naval Research in an advisory role supporting Marine Corps communications research and design. Provide technical expertise on communications and RF theory, directed energy, electronic warfare. Assist customers with system integration and design efforts. Research, evaluate, and deploy advanced communications prototype equipment for clients in research and production areas. Work with operational and test data sets, complex systems, and team members from a variety of specialties to solve clients' hardest problems. Support a range of clients from front line analysts to researchers and senior leadership. Work as a key contributor on a collaborative, fast-growing, and highly skilled communications design team. Experience with Marine Corps, Army or Navy communications systems, analysis techniques, practices, and design. Knowledge of a variety of advanced RF and communications engineering science and mathematical concepts, practices, and procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 12+ years experience, Masters Degree 10+ years in an electrical engineering or similar scientific field required; Master's or PhD preferred. At least 5 years of experience specific to the areas of Communications System Design and RF Theory, S&T concept development, portfolio analysis/assessment, S&T program development, and support to S&T programs.
