The Communications team is focused on driving programs and activities that build, support and defend Mastercard's reputation among key internal and external audiences. The broader team has been designed to closely mirror the business and support the company's efforts to expand in payments, extend our services and embrace new networks.

This role is focused on accelerating top communications talent and will work across a dynamic team of communications and public relations leaders, supporting high profile reputation campaigns. The position and its activities were created to build a pipeline for leadership roles across global communications at Mastercard. The individual selected will collaborate across regions and across departments in the organization, gaining valuable experience and exposure to different Mastercard teams. This communications specialist will coordinate with the senior vice president of communications and the global communications team in advancing day-to-day activities.

Role

  • Act as project coordinator between the executive, internal, and external teams on priority programs

  • Assist team with coordinating various media requests to support executive visibility

  • Assist team in managing the Mastercard global communications' social media account, including monitoring and drafting tweets

  • Opportunity to pitch stories and write various types of content, from social shorts to media materials and perspectives pieces

  • Plan and facilitate external and internal events

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with global communications, marketing and finance teams and their respective agencies and consultants

  • Day to day lead for media monitoring and daily clippings

  • Manage multiple projects as assigned

The team works directly with Wealth Management executive leadership to develop and implement strategic communication plans in alignment with overall Firm strategy and to help drive Wealth Management objectives and Field engagement.</p><p>The Wealth Management Communications Specialist is part of the Wealth Management Executive Communications and Strategy team, and will be responsible for acting as a communications advisor, assisting with communication planning, writing communications and supporting strategic projects across all channels for business areas within Wealth Management. This individual will also collaborate with a number of internal partners within Wealth Management and Corporate Communications, including key leaders of business units, Legal and Compliance and Marketing.</p><p>Primary Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Support Wealth Management Executive Communications and Strategy team to develop, maintain and implement communications strategy for senior executives and Wealth Management business areas.</p></li><li><p>Partner with Wealth Management businesses to gain a clear understanding of business initiatives and effectively translate them to communication objectives and strategies.</p></li><li><p>Create content and draft strategic messaging in support of business objectives and broader Firm strategy, as well as review, edit and manage production of internal communications (e.g. internal publications, videos, newsletter articles, talking points, FAQs, Field notifications, etc.).</p></li><li><p>Develop comprehensive communication plans to support business objectives and provide communications guidance and feedback, including socialization to senior management.</p></li><li><p>Manage the implementation and execution of communications, including review of distribution lists and processes, to successfully deliver communications to employees through a range of platforms and channels.</p></li><li><p>Manage internal podcast program including partnering with platform administrators and users groups, creating and evaluating show content and proposals, and managing governance, process and expansion of the platform.</p></li><li><p>Assist with the management and planning of national calls; includes responsibilities such as coordinating with key stakeholders, drafting &amp; reviewing materials (presentations, talking points, communications), and day of execution.</p></li><li><p>Provide project management support for special projects and high-visibility communications initiatives.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with other members of the Wealth Management Communications and Corporate Communications teams to ensure communication strategies incorporate a holistic view, including media and client components where applicable.</p></li><li><p>Ensure accuracy, clarity and consistency of communications, reflecting strategic messaging and broader Firm objectives with consideration to risk, compliance and change management.</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree required.</p></li><li><p>Minimum 7-10 years professional experience.
