Brief Summary of Role

This person will report into the Director of Shared Services and will touch many aspects of Appirio's overall Marketings programs, This person must be able to work confidently with a wide variety of stakeholders, be detail oriented and be able to drive projects to success in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Writing and editing engaging communication assets, including:

  • executive communications needs (emails, talking points, presentations)

  • content for internal channels

  • Executing internal communication strategy, including:

  • managing communications schedules and agendas

  • project managing corporate social responsibility communications

  • liaising with other internal groups to manage communication need

  • Content Writing

  • Writing various types of articles on a wide range of topics.

  • Providing feedback to other contributors, and editing other writers' content.

  • Optimizing content for search engines and lead generation.

  • Contributing to long-form content projects such as ebooks.

  • Conducting analytical projects to improve blog strategies/tactics.

  • Growing blog subscribers and expanding the overall blog's reach

Education and Required Experience (Requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree in writing, communications, journalism, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 1-2 years of experience coordinating and managing communications programs

  • Experience balancing multiple priorities and multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines

  • Experience interacting with executives and senior leadership

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex information and ideas in a clear way

  • Must be active on social networks and have an understanding of social media

  • Experience with Google G Suite, Microsoft 365, Salesforce.com, and other cloud platforms a plus

  • Strong team player

  • Superior organizational skills

Our Marketing and Public Relations team is responsible for PwC's external media relations and social media strategy. As part of our team, you'll help with social media account management, media relationship management, and identifying new and emerging opportunities for the Firm. Responsibilities As a Director, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Proactively lead the practise by setting strategy, drive the development of new business in the market, and provide technical advice across disciplines * Building strong networks within the firm to spot and capitalise on opportunities to get involved in projects that others are leading across a number of different business units and sectors * Identifying and discussing key issues with our clients to identify potential opportunities * Responsibility for a majority of day to day client communications * Responsibility to shape and deliver various projects that exceed the expectations of our clients and our own assignment quality criteria * Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team * Responsibility for management of engagement financials * Helping to grow and develop our team through hands on training and coaching Job Requirements and Preferences: Basic Qualifications: Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma Minimum Years of Experience: 10 year(s) of progressive leadership roles ( preferably in a professional services firm, financial services entity, or public relations agency) involving leading and driving external media relations and social media strategies. Preferred Qualifications: Degree Preferred: Bachelor Degree Preferred Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrate thought-leader level abilities with and/or proven record of success directing efforts including the following: * Understanding of media strategy at a national and global level, with significant experience managing others to accomplish key objectives; * Demonstrating knowledge of the development of media strategies and oversight of their execution, including external communications strategies focused on firm wide objectives; * Working with spokespeople on media interviews, leveraging industry events, and responding to unsolicited media requests; * Possessing the knowledge of managing multiple external communications initiatives at the same time; * Influencing external communications strategies across functions, helping secure leaders and position them as thought leaders in their areas of specialization at high level conferences,events, and forums within the media; * Understanding of the external landscape, especially as it relates to corporate responsibility, diversity and talent; * Providing strategic guidance on the integration between the functions as well as strategies to maximize visibility and engagement among key audiences that positively impacts the reputation of the firm; * Building and maintaining relationships with leadership, including effectively managing through a matrix organization; * Serving as a senior counselor to key leaders of an organization on program and communications plan development; * Responding successfully to adverse public scrutiny by emphasizing working with the media directly in these situations, helping reporters and editors understand facts, context, and its client's narrative and messages; * Leveraging strategic verbal and written skills to translate complex concepts into easy to understand and compelling messaging; * Managing a team of 12-15 staff and developing the team members' management and professional skills; * Managing on-going external communications strategy and drive change by collaborating with other Internal Firm functions; * Overseeing and managing external communications budgets, supervising and approving all external spending projects; and, * Guiding direct reports' use of outside external communications agencies, contractors and sponsorships as well as maintaining relationships with service providers.
