The Communications Representative fills a variety of roles as a member of the marketing team. They are responsible for managing a mix of projects from across the organization, as well as enterprising new ideas to meet the company's business objectives and tell the Summit story.


  • Researches, prepares, writes and reviews articles for internal and/or external communications, which may include general announcements, presentations, newsletters, advertisements, operational changes, and press releases, content for internal/external websites and/or communications to customers.

  • Ensures communications are appropriate, accurate and grammatically correct.

  • Develops and executes communication strategies and timelines for communication initiatives

  • Identifies and documents project stakeholders' objectives, audience, standards, timing, budget and distribution methods.

  • Collaborates with design team to ensure creative objectives are clearly defined and executed.

  • May plan and organize activities and events for customers or employees relating to trade shows, special promotions, rollouts, product launches, and/or public/community relations.

  • Collaborates with management and other functional areas (Sales, Underwriting, etc.) to understand desired outcomes and ensure objectives are met.

  • Participates in maintaining company archives/libraries for photographs, logos, graphics, communications, newsletters, press releases and other communication materials.

  • Maintains an organized record of ongoing projects and keeps marketing leadership informed on project status on an ongoing basis.

  • May participate in responding to routine inquiries, requests, concerns and/or complaints. Refers non-routine inquires to more experienced staff.

  • Develops working knowledge of regulatory guidelines and agencies pertaining to communications, advertising and marketing materials.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

  • 3 to 5 years of marketing or communications experience preferred

  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing and editing (writing samples required)

  • Strong project management skills

  • Digital marketing knowledge and experience, including social media, email marketing, content marketing, etc.

  • Design/layout experience a plus, particularly with the Adobe Creative Suite

  • Knowledge of workers compensation and insurance industry preferred

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work within a team environment

VIEW JOBS 1/10/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-10T00:00 Job Description Title: Marketing Communications (MARCOM) Associate - ITW Professional Automotive Products & International Sales Reports to: Senior Marketing Manager, ITW Professional Automotive Products Location: Lakeland, FL Summary: The MARCOM Associate will support the development and implementation of successful marketing campaigns for key sales channels (Distributors, Quick Lubes and Tire/Muffler/Brake) and focus brands (Wynn's, Full Throttle, QMI, Rain-X and Gumout Professional). S/He will build knowledge of these B2B sales channels to best leverage the MARCOM Toolbox (spiffs, rebates, signage, training, web & digital, trade shows, sell sheets, catalogs, CRM, print advertising, etc.). Contributes to the team's goal to drive organic growth and sustainable differentiation. Duties and Responsibilities * Work with the Senior Marketing Manager to develop marketing programs to drive sales and profits. * Execute the promotional strategy in the Distributor/Quick Lube, Tire/Muffler/Brake channels. Drive sales through strategic initiatives. * Develop, implement and track the performance of marketing activities for key customers. * Maintain budgets for marketing programs and special projects as assigned. * Develop annual promotional calendar for customers. * Work closely with Brand and Sales to support the successful sell-in of new products and services. * Develop an understanding of the brand portfolio, competition and key competitive edges. * Provide input to sales for business reviews. * Maintain strong working relationship with Sales, Brand, New Product Development, Supply Chain, Finance, customers and outside suppliers. * Maintain monthly a promotional deck across all key customers tracking and reporting activities and results. * Participate in cross-functional projects and teams. * Ensure all customer/promotional messages are consistent with brand strategy and delivers against customer and end user insights. * Coordinate trade shows and large customer meetings. * Manage, track and refresh training programs. * Develop creative briefs for marketing agencies and in-house design team. Requirements: * 4-year undergraduate degree in a Marketing or Sales discipline. * 3-5 years of experience in a Marketing role. * Self-motivated with ability to hit deadlines. * Excellent written and verbal communications skills. * Excellent project manager, able to handle many activities and manage details that can help drive sales growth. * Clear understanding of general marketing principles. * Analytical skills. * Excellent organizational skills & strong attention to detail. * Excellent presentation skills. * Proven skills in building relationships & collaboration. * Customer focused with ability to objectively assess opportunities and fit with customer's needs. * Working knowledge of basic financial principles. * Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
