Do you have strong organization skills and a passion for communications? Virginia Farm Bureau is currently seeking a Communications Projects Coordinator to work in our Communications department. This position is based out of our corporate West Creek Office Park building in Richmond, Virginia.

Responsibilities include serving as a staff writer and photographer for all Virginia Farm Bureau Federation (VFBF) publications, coordinator of Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom educator newsletter and Farm Bureau monthly e-newsletter to members. Other duties include coordinating media and public relations projects related to the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention and the State Fair of Virginia.

Special projects for the Communications Department, county Farm Bureaus and other departments within Farm Bureau are also coordinated in this role. Desired candidates will have exposure using social media outreach as a platform to communicate information.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Serves as coordinator of AITC newsletter and Real Virginia monthly e-newsletter, and writes for Virginia Farm Bureau News magazine, Cultivate magazine, and weekly news dispatches to media contacts. Also serves as a staff photographer for Farm Bureaus publications and events.

  • Responsible for coordinating and, in some instances, writing news releases, and distributing news releases via Constant Contact or email.

  • Attends conferences and workshops for the department as needed throughout the year.

  • Coordinates the development of various promotional materials for special events, meetings, news conferences and general information.

  • Some contribution to social media outreach for Farm Bureau, the State Fair of Virginia and The Meadow Event Park via Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook.

  • Responsible for media relations and credentials for Farm Bureaus annual convention and State Fair. Responsible for coordinating and creating some collateral for other events and projects. Also develops and sends surveys for the department.

  • Assist in writing and coordinating entries to various award competitions, including those of the American Farm Bureau Federation.

  • Coordinates Farm Bureaus Spokesfarmers program.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Some travel required.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or English
  • 1-3 years writing, editing and layout experience in newspaper or public relations

MINIMUM SKILL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure

  • Proven objective reporting and writing skills

  • Strong word processing skills

  • Excellent organizational skills (handle multiple projects/meet deadlines)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High level of initiative and self-motivation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of agriculture and Farm Bureau issues

This position is responsible for the daily management of installation projects for Lumber Liquidators Installation Service (LLIS), enabling store associates to sell wood flooring and installation services, ensuring complete customer satisfaction, and enhancing the Lumber Liquidators brand. Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Process requests for flooring project measures and quotes for customers * Schedule measures utilizing contracted Installation Providers (IPs) * Following measure, create accurate flooring installation project quotes * Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and timelines to ensure project completion and quality * Record metrics on completion and quality * Partner with store associates to deliver sales support and high customer satisfaction through order, delivery, and installation process and if needed, issue resolution * Call assigned stores daily to give and receive updates * Update Communication Log throughout shift and forward to stores at the end of each shift * Assist fellow IPCs daily to ensure all store and customer requests are responded to for maintenance of proper service levels * Maintain financial records and reconciles invoices and expenses to company standard. * Submit installation invoices for processing throughout the week * Maintain consistent clear and professional communication with peers, assigned stores, IPs, Regional Managers (RM), and Regional Installed Sales Manager (RISM) for assigned stores and/or region(s) * Attend weekly conference call with assigned regions and/or stores * Deliver on all other performance measures that indicate the quality of the sale, margin and customer experience * Provide feedback to IPs during and after projects as needed to reinforce success. * In partnership with store operations and leaders, provide quality metrics to enhance performance * Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in the performance of all duties Additional Requirements: * Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of retail and sales concepts, practices, and procedures * Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals using a calculator; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. * Proactively assist others.
