Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Communications Manager PSJH to our location in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Communications Manager to engage in internal/external issues and reputation management and provide organization-wide strategy, planning and execution of initiatives in support of Providence St. Joseph Health's strategic priorities and national reputation. This role will support communication to all Providence St. Joseph Health audiences, spanning multiple regions, facilities and diverse business units.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Support the strategy, planning and execution of communication plans; programs; initiatives; and campaigns related to issues, crises and reputation management, with a specific focus on legislative advocacy.
Oversee, manage and measure effectiveness of projects that include employee/caregiver communication, executive communication and thought leadership, public relations/media relations, community engagement and social media/influencer strategies.
Promote, protect, reinforce and grow the organizational voice, narrative and reputation of Providence and our family of organizations through strategic issues and reputation management and communication.
Create and implement high-quality issues and reputation management and communication strategies, plans and supporting materials.
Monitor and follow industry trends to provide valuable insights and actionable recommendations for proactive and reactive issues and reputation management.
Work effectively, collaboratively and nimbly with cross-functional teams at the system and regional levels to support issues and reputation management initiatives.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated management experience in broad-based and successful communication programs.
Demonstrated experience managing communication programs and business relationships.
Demonstrated experience working in highly matrixed and geographically dispersed organizations and teams.
Demonstrated writing and editing experience.
Demonstrated health care experience.
Deep knowledge of integrated health care and communication practices.
Ability to create strong, strategic business relationships with senior executives and board leadership at both the organizational and region/ministry levels.
Ability to work collaboratively across a diverse, matrixed marketing and communication team to ensure messaging and programs are delivered quickly, consistently and powerfully across multiple channels and locations.
Ability to drive proactive, powerful messaging in support of a brand position.
Agility and flexibility in coordinating multiple high-level projects, and just-in-time issues and work assignment.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
7 years of experience in corporate communication, integrated communication, public affairs or related field
Proficiency in social and digital communication tools used to monitor and engage with audiences.
Ability to create strong, strategic relationships with peers, executives and leadership at the organizational and regional/local levels, and external stakeholders.
Communication experience in health care.
Experience in a faith-based health system/organization.
