Opendoor's Communications Manager will work closely with our Corporate Communications Lead and the broader communications team, including local and product/tech communicators, to bring Opendoor's story to life. This person will play a critical cross-functional role in helping Opendoor educate the market, promote our leadership and support our ambitious growth. We are seeking a teammate who can effectively develop and help manage communications programs, tell our story to the media and other audiences and drive thought leadership.
Develop and support strategic communications initiatives across corporate, local and product/tech verticals
Lead customer testimonial program, including the creation, vetting and maintenance of an ongoing pipeline of customer stories to help strategically position the brand across internal and external communications efforts
Regularly spot trends and monitor for emerging or active issues relevant to Opendoor
Execute thought leadership efforts that promote our leadership in the industry
Amplify Opendoor coverage through strong relationships with reporters and influencers
Develop thoughtful, well-written communications assets (blog posts, press releases, bylines, etc.)
Identify, vet and help prioritize speaking opportunities for Opendoor leaders
Compose and collaborate on social media content to support communications goals
Measure and report program results and business impact
Maintain knowledge of the residential real estate industry, housing markets, capital markets and other core areas of relevance
Work with our PR agency to coordinate communications efforts
Bachelor's degree and minimum 5+ years of communications experience in-house or in an agency
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Results-oriented self-starter with strong follow-through
Creative, curious and motivated individual
Strong media relationships and ability to convert relationships into coverage
Excellent written communication skills and the ability to turn complex messages into press-friendly language
Based in the San Francisco area with some travel
