Overview

Job Summary

The Communications Manager is responsible for managing and executing internal communications initiatives cross functionally to various internal channels, department's stores, and stakeholders. This position regularly interacts, with company all levels of the organization, on a variety of multifaceted projects.

The successful candidate must have the proven experience and ability to render complex information clearly and accurately for a diverse employee base and effectively collaborate with others to develop and implement programs and communications materials for targeted audiences which enhance awareness and utilization of divisional programs and services. Must excel at message development, storytelling and writing with a style that captures the author's voice and the audience's attention.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include the following essential functions, but are not limited to:

Create and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy from concept to execution and deliver on the objectives of:Driving greater employee engagement

Presenting a consistent voice that supports what we do with our founding principles and strategic objective

Collaborate with executives, managers and subject matter experts to develop innovative internal communication solutions on time and on budget.Responsible for planning, administering and completing assigned projects, which may cross several functional areas, such as operations, human resources, or marketing.Participate in messaging and strategy sessions with strategic communication planners and subject matter experts, providing input on creative assets for internal communication plans.Develops targeted messages which create an understanding of complex subject matter; demonstrates a high level of business knowledge and skill. Creates focused communications which leads audiences to the intended action and behavior change.Collaborates with others to develop and implement programs and communications materials for targeted audiences which enhance awareness and utilization of divisional programs and services.Be adept at juggling multiple assignments to meet deadlines.Demonstrated abilities as a writer and editor will be required.Developing and enhancing communications-related performance metrics to measure effectiveness, progress and business impact.

QualificationsA bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or other related field.Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 5+ years marketing experience including a demonstrated ability to produce effective communication strategies

Knowledge of publishing and other related software.Demonstrated creativity in the design of marketing, public relations or educational programs and communications materials.

Additionally, AIT and Assistant Managers perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Work directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates and provide leadership. The AIT and Assistant Manager will also share responsibility for training and motivating Teammates and act as the Store Manager in their absence. The Assistant Manager Position is a progression from the AIT position and therefore includes additional high level duties that are specific to that position, though the majority of job duties and responsibilities are shared. Sales Generation and Guest Service Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and is consistently prepared to provide legendary service to each Guest. Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development Develop skills and assist in leading, directing, motivating and educating new Teammates to meet and achieve Buckle's accountability, shift orientation, Loss Prevention and sales presentation standards on a daily basis. Visual Merchandise Management Own and influence product through zone ownership, exhibiting the ability to recognize and merchandise products and projects to Teammates daily with a specific learning goal in mind. Operations Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, the day of/day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, all based upon store and business needs. Establish relationships and excellent communication with Corporate Office Departments to assist Store Manager in effective operations of the store. Supervisory and Leadership Ability to travel and cover other Stores within District based on business needs. Coachable; consistently welcomes feedback from Manager to improve sales presentations.
