Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic Manager, Internal Communications to join our team in New York City. This person will be responsible for developing and executing employee communications, strategies and programs. He/she will partner in the integration of communication strategies across the company and provide leadership and direction for multiple functional areas.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements strategic internal communications plans designed to support key business objectives, long-term goals, and projects; executes plan tactics, including digital, video, print and others.

  • Drafts communications in partnership with senior leaders, including emails, presentations, speeches, talking points and other tactics designed to reach employees and other key audiences.

  • Writes and edits company-wide communications, such as personnel announcements, organization announcements, executive summaries and recaps, talking points and key messaging, often at high volume and on tight deadlines.

  • Provides guidance and leadership within projects/initiatives as needed; leads projects that involve cross-functional partners as necessary.

  • Ensures proper post-project analysis and "continuous improvement" approach, with a keen eye for metrics and communications effectiveness.

  • Develops content for the company intranet, while helping to ensure the articles and content being posted are timely and accurate while representing the company's key business priorities.

  • Keeps communications fresh, creative and engaging; regularly develops and explores new ideas, strategies and tactics for communicating internally.

  • Handles tactical assignments with a sense of urgency and purpose.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Specification:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent. Communications or Journalism preferred.

  • Communications / Public Relations

  • Ability to write quickly and clearly; distilling complex concepts into key messages.

  • Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple and changing priorities while maintaining strong focus on execution and results.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills and experience communicating to diverse audiences is a must.

  • Must be a self-starter. Takes independent action to identify and solve problems. Seeks out relevant information needed to make decisions.

  • Strong understanding of the AP Style.

  • Graphic design experience is a plus.

  • Experience in PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Marketo etc.

  • Graphic and video editing ability preferred.

  • Generally requires 6-9 years related experience

You will define proactive communication objectives associated with each program designed. This will be done by measuring effectiveness and progress toward achieving communication objectives. You will also navigate and plan for information that is often uncertain or nuanced.
