The Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) Communications Intern will report to the Director of AIG Communications and contribute to writing, editing and developing messaging and content for internal and external audiences.

General responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing and building out content on our AIG and division intranet (iConnect) sites

  • Assist with developing social content (Yammer) to support AIG events and other milestones

  • Support writing and editing as needed for other communications projects, including change communications and executive messages (including videos)

  • Develop and provide measurement reports for internal and external communications initiatives (Yammer, TrendKite, etc.)

  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to research, write and edit stories and other content for iConnect and Yammer

  • Draft and edit organizational announcements as needed

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding writing skills

  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, proactive, ability to work independently as well as in teams

  • Ability to analyze and quickly grasp complex technical subject matter and translate it into easily understood messaging

  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including ability to manage remotely as well

  • Good sense of humor

Preferred Experience/Background:

  • Public relations, other communications experience

  • Microsoft Office 365 experience, including SharePoint and Yammer

  • Familiarity with AP Style

  • Graphic design editing skills a plus

Educational Criteria:

  • Minimum of two to three years of University-level study in journalism, English or communications
