SUMMARY:

The Communications Coordinator will play an important role in the Revolution Communications Department on a full-time basis. The coordinator will provide support for the department's daily publicity efforts with a wide range of responsibilities focused on the first team, Revolution II, the Revolution Academy, and the club's business objectives. Primary duties include media relations work to generate sports and non-sports media coverage of the first team, with a particular focus on securing earned media results in support of corporate communications and community relations initiatives. Prior in-house or agency communications experience, as well as knowledge of and passion for the sport of soccer, is preferred as this position will have a dual focus on sports communications and off-field, general-interest projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and analyze media coverage regularly to produce daily clips reports and monthly coverage reports for club leadership.

  • Lead gameday media relations and press operations including credentialing, media parking management, gameday setup of press areas, and press box management.

  • Produce detailed sports information including press releases, biographies, game notes, postgame recaps, transcripts, and more.

  • Secure earned media and lead external pitching campaigns as assigned, cultivating relationships with local sports and non-sports media.

  • Play supporting role in first-team media relations by assisting with daily media access, interviews, and press conferences.

  • Serve as primary media contact for Revolution II and Revolution Academy, ensuring the timely fulfillment of all required media access and press materials.

  • Attend all Revolution II home games, including home matches held in New Hampshire, and provide remote coverage for all Revolution II away games.

  • Serve as department lead on community relations outreach, monitoring the club's CR calendar, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and spearheading the procurement of earned media.

  • Contribute storylines, content, and occasional social media support for the Revolution II and Academy channels, and club website.

  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Communications

  • At least 1+ year of full-time experience working in professional or college sports, with an emphasis on soccer and MLS preferred

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and external communication skills and possess a strong customer-service orientation to build and maintain internal and external relationships, specifically with media

  • Superior writing skills and the ability to communicate in a professional manner

  • Strong attention to detail, especially while working on deadlines

  • Professional demeanor and collaborative attitude

  • Must be well organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including switching tasks on short notice

  • Must be self-motivated and accountable

  • Strong computer and research skills required; familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office preferred.

  • Must possess a familiarity with social media and digital platforms including Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, etc.

  • Must have attention to detail and focused concentration.

  • Must be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow.

  • Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and responsiveness.
