Job Description
Virginia Tech's Communications and Marketing team seeks a communications coordinator to advance the work of its news and media relations teams.
The communications coordinator will monitor earned media coverage and report metrics to show impact and develop best practices. This position will process campus notices, regularly update the Virginia Tech News website, and assist in the production of the VT daily email and weekly student email.
In addition, this position will manage activities such as:
Maintaining email distribution lists
Processing campus notices
Compiling monthly metrics
Distributing news releases
Training of other communicators to use central tools and platforms.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with website maintenance.
Demonstrated writing and/or editing experience.
Demonstrated experience working with analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
Experience working with content management systems.
Experience producing email newsletters.
Experience working in media or media relations.
Familiarity with principles of web development
Familiarity with AP style
