Job Title: Communications Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Communications & Special Projects
Primary Purpose:
Help present Crandall ISD to the world in an accurate, appealing manner. Through communications, social media, stories, newsletters, articles, photos, videos and constant contact with stakeholders-internally and externally-you have the chance to tell the story of our district, our students and our teachers.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in communications, video, journalism, marketing, radio/television/film, or related discipline preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong writing, editing and research skills
Experience in video and graphic design productions and equipment usage
Strong knowledge of digital photography
Ability to meet established deadlines while managing multiple projects
Outstanding attention to detail
Exceptional grammarian and proficient in AP Style
Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to work within a team
Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels, including the general public
Script writing and storyboarding skills
Experience setting up and operating a live stream on various platforms
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in communications, public relations, video/graphic design, journalism, social media preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide support to both internal and external communications needs of the district and campuses with a focus on videos, photos, social media, stories, newsletters, and articles.
Implement and support district-level videography efforts from conception to completion, including all necessary scripting, filming, content and overall creative design.
Skill in utilizing multiple communication mediums to convey information, internally and externally.
Participate in event planning and community activities that are the responsibility of the Communications Department and Superintendent's Office.
Cover events throughout work week with some weekend and evening activities.
Help craft messages that uplift employees and ensure that everyone understands their position within the district.
Edit and proofread marketing materials such as brochures, postcards, emails and advertisements.
Create and repurpose content for various platforms.
Work well under deadlines and successfully work multiple projects simultaneously, from conception to completion.
Available via phone during an emergency.
Work flexible hours; evening and/or weekend work required.
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
