ManTech International seeks qualified candidates for a Communications Assistant to support our NSF - AMOS program in Reston, VA. The selected candidate will augment work assigned to a Communications Team providing Public Outreach, Event Management and Training support to its federal client, the National Science Foundation. Primary duties will include: help in coordinating events such conferences and training workshops (registration, payment and other logistics support), conducting email marketing using Aventri or a similar system, database management (including Salesforce.com), providing editorial support for client deliverables, and tracking budgets and project schedules. Other duties will include: development and/or review of presentations and training materials, performing basic website maintenance, taking meeting minutes, and miscellaneous tasks as assigned. The Communications Assistant will be exposed to: outreach planning and strategy, all aspects of event management, marketing automation tools, and will be given the opportunity to grow within the job. The position will normally require a 40-hour work week; however, there will be occasions when the candidate must work overtime to meet customer requirements (example: during an event).
Position requires up to 25% travel.
A sharp attention to detail is critical to be successful in this position. The candidate must meet the following requirements (although some technical training may be provided to the right candidate):
Up to 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar position of a position administrative in nature.
Strong written and oral skills, with a focus on clarity and conciseness.
Editorial or proofreading experience for a public audience is strongly desired.
The ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
Solid command of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Interest in the Communications, Public Outreach and/or Training fields.
A customer service and team orientation.
Some experience working in an office environment (including internships).
Exposure to Adobe Creative Suite, Salesforce.com, web content management systems, and mass marketing email tools is desirable.
