The Communication Program Manager provides counsel to senior leadership regarding communications pertaining to VM initiatives, crises, and healthcare-related developments. This job develops and implements communication plans and programs; and is responsible for related budget development, allocation of resources, and vendor selection and management.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
Knowledge of communications theory required.
At least 7 years experience in a communications capacity, preferably in a healthcare environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
Proven skills in communications including long-range public relations planning, business development, application of communications theory, program analysis and evaluation.
Will also oversee the Community Benefit Program including monitoring, tracking and verifying that VMMC's participation in Community activities are consistent with Virginia mason's exempt purposes as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Preferred qualifications include advanced course work in Communications; professional accreditation (e.g., through the Public Relations Society of America); and existing relationships with local media representatives.
