Speech-Language Pathology -

Visiting, Open Rank Part-Time (.5) Faculty Position

The College of Health Professions at Sacred Heart University invites applications for the position of part-time, visiting, open rank professor available August 1st, 2024 in the Department of Communication Disorders. Preference is given to individuals with teaching experience and 2+ years of clinical experience.

The individual in this position will have responsibility for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in communication sciences and disorders. Additional responsibilities will include student recruitment and advisement, program evaluation, and department, college and university service. Clinical experience, and eligibility for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology a Connecticut Department of Public Health License is required. The credit load for the position is 12 credits distributed over 10 months and the faculty member will report to the Chair of the Department of Communication Disorders.

Requirements:

  • Earned Master's Degree or Doctorate in Communication Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology), or related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in Communication Disorders.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology and eligibility for a Connecticut Department of Public Health License.

  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience, supervision experience preferred.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to applicants with interest in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of phonetics, speech and language development and disorders, anatomy and physiology, clinical methods, and neurological bases of communication.

  • Interest/experience in clinical supervision of graduate students.
