General Description:

The Commodity Supply Planner position provides the single point of contact between the supplier and customer service. This individual's primary role is to assist with the critical day to day tactical scheduling and ordering necessary for all of PolyOne Distribution needs for their respective suppliers. This position's specific responsibilities are to plan inventory levels per the specific supplier goals, ensure optimal inventory deployment and manage inventory levels to meet service levels. The position requires strong computer and analytical skills combined with the ability to deal with large amounts of quantitative data. This individual must have the ability to actively listen to customer and supplier issues, efficiently troubleshoot problems and implement solutions in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drives customer satisfaction and PolyOne profitability by balancing inventory levels and order fulfillment within established working capital guidelines.

  • Enters, maintains, and updates MRP forecasts for POD customers.

  • Review MRP run output and create purchase orders

  • Purchase materials in most cost effective manner to meet customer requirements. Consider order quantities, hub and spoke opportunities, logistics modes and other cost savings opportunities.

  • Build truckload STO deliveries to stocking points where possible based on material demand

  • Review MRP data to identify inventory and delivery exceptions. Define plan to resolve issue short term and long term.

  • Maintain MRP forecasts and item notes by establishing effective communications with POD Sellers and CSRs.

  • Answer material requests from POD CSRs.

  • Aids in managing the supply chain to meet operating plans balancing service needs and costs. Perform daily schedule maintenance based on new production/customer information. Interact with supplier CSRs and POD sellers/DMs to resolve issues and build consensus.

  • Maintain forecasted demand for stock-able products at specific warehouses using forecasting models in SAP.

  • Analyze and maintain data to create information on safety stock levels and forecasting requirements.

  • Work with Customer Service and Sales to resolve aged inventory issues.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors' Degree or related degree.
  • 1 to 2 years of related experience
  • APICS training preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Technical knowledge of Supply Chain, Purchasing, Materials, Manufacturing, and/or related functions.

  • This position requires strong computer and analytical skills combined with the ability to manage large amounts of quantitative data.

  • Must be proficient in the use Microsoft Office software and have working knowledge of relational databases and SAP applications, specifically the Materials Management and Production Planning modules.

  • Individuals in this position must have the ability to actively listen to customer and plant issues, efficiently troubleshoot problems and implement solutions in a timely and customer focused manner.

  • Demonstrated analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE's 5 million customer accounts. Position Overview This position will be in the Technical Planning division within Southern California Edison's (SCE) Transmission & Organizational Unit (TDOU). The Technical Design Planner 2 position is responsible for overseeing and/or preparing complex electrical designs for a number of internal organizations. Responsibilities may include: * Communicate with customers, Distribution Engineering, Distribution Operations Center and other internal organizations to determine technical requirements regarding the design of new customer-driven projects. * Define the scope and operational requirements for preparation of preliminary electrical and civil design. * Coordinate design activities for all infrastructure replacement programs, including WCR circuits, capacitors, deteriorated structures, cable replacement, switch replacement, and AR replacement programs. * Overseeing the design of major under grounding projects. * Coordinate with Distribution Engineering, Civil Construction, PMO, Drafting, Scheduling, Construction, Environmental, and other internal organizations to create electrical designs. * Prepare work order documents, preparing and reviewing work order drawings, and completing and approving final work order packages. * Order materials and identifying expected construction labor and timeframes. * Complete all necessary contracts, invoices, and easement requests. * Apply for necessary permits, FAA approval and submitting environmental reviews to prepare project for eventual construction. * Forward completed work order packages to sponsor organization and updating all internal systems as required. * Assist Designers and other team members with technical issues. * Act as a team leader in coordinating efforts of contract planners, engineers, customers, and all other internal sources for the purpose of creating a high quality electrical design in a timely manner. * Support system emergencies as they arise. * Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. * Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Must possess three or more years of experience working in an electrical utility distribution service planning function. * Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
