The Challenge

Drives the execution of the cooking direct material sourcing strategies for GEA Cooking products and programs. Manages the strategy, total cost and supplier relationships of glass, heaters, gas components and other commodities, including managing and understanding the total risk associated with the supply chain. Serves as a subject matter expert in the commodity, including the technology, materials, negotiation, market, and competition. Works in tandem with R&D, marketing, product management, operations and manufacturing specialists who as one team take those ideas and new products from concept to completion.

What you will Do

Job Duties:

  • Lead Cooking direct material sourcing strategy and manage all aspects of associated supplier relationships for assigned commodity.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the commodity, including the technology, materials, negotiation, market, and competition.

  • Manage direct supplier relationships in all aspects including commercial and supply chain management, NPI support, root-cause analysis of issues, problem resolution, and improving supplier manufacturing process.

  • Work effectively cross-functionally to develop and execute Sourcing strategies to deliver against material cost take out (MCTO), quality, delivery and cash goals.

  • Utilize request-for-quote (RFQ) tools & systems to manage supplier negotiations and data, to identify and drive project execution within given commodities.

  • Lead strategic negotiations and review all agreements prior to execution.

  • Determine supplier risk and lead mitigation efforts, including EOL.

  • Introduce supplier innovation whenever possible to improve GEA's costs and features.

  • Serve as a liaison between Sourcing, other business functions, and suppliers to ensure team and suppliers are effectively supporting the programs and NPI efforts.

Working conditions:

  • Up to 20% travel required for domestic and/or international travel to affiliate sites and suppliers.

What you need to Succeed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field.

  • 7 years' relevant experience within supply chain, program management, commodity management or in a related role involving negotiating, identifying opportunities, selecting suppliers and/or implementing contracts and/or in-depth commodity technical expertise.

  • Experience managing Distribution partners.

  • Experience managing new product introductions and product transitions, excess and obsolescence.

  • Demonstrated supplier contract negotiations and closure.

  • Demonstrated international supplier management.

  • Experience in complex bill-of-material (BOM) and engineering-driven requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues, to initiate actions, and to make effective decisions.

  • Ability to take inputs from multiple functions and perspectives and translate it into an actionable plan while reconciling and integrating competing interests.

  • Understands big picture and aligns priorities with broader goals, measures outcomes, uses feedback to change as needed, evaluates alternatives, solutions oriented, seeks alternatives and broad input; can see connections within complex issues.

  • Demonstrates initiative and takes action proactively. Possesses the self-discipline to take actions before they are necessary, optimism towards achieving positive outcome and the competitiveness to translate a plan into action.

  • Strong problem solving, analytic, and project management skills. Goal-oriented and proactive in problem solving, coupled with creativity and a high energy level

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to distill complex messaging into a concise, clear message.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business, engineering or related field.

  • Six Sigma or equivalent certification.

  • Prior sourcing and/or purchasing experience in related direct material commodities, including glass, heaters, gas components and/or other commodities.

This role has overall responsibility for general and property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, payroll and budgetary controls. Appraises operating results in terms of costs, budgets, policies of operations, trends and increased profit opportunities. Develops accounting policies to comply with generally accepted accounting principles, tax requirements, SEC requirements, management reporting requirements. What you will Do Job Duties: * Administers general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, forms control, office equipment control and records retention programs. * Consolidates capital assets, maintenance and organization operating budgets, checks appropriation request against approved budgets for availability of funds prior to commitment, and exercised accounting control to ensure that budgeted expenditures do not exceed amounts authorized. * Reviews equipment and real estate leases to determine they are economically appropriate relative to other sources of financing. * Interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the organizations and makes specific recommendations which will result in cost reduction and profit improvement. * Assumes responsibility for accounting classifications of all expenditures and documents, including capital and others. * Responsible for establishing internal accounting control policies and procedures.
