What you will do:

  • Responsible for the development of sourcing logistics strategies for US and Canada as well as for commercial negotiations with providers and continuous improvement projects identification while supporting regional operations/transportation team.

  • Collaborate with other Region Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Finance teams to increase efficiency, optimize the end to end supply chain and reduce cost within the JCI Power Solutions network.

  • Results-driven about business cost reduction, revenue increasing initiatives, aggregating supplier volume/reducing price, & utilizing tools/identifying opportunities for e-processes increasing capacity & driving controllership.

How you will do it:

  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies for all logistics providers in the region (Warehouses, Custom Brokers, Carriers, Freight Forwarders, Dedicated Fleet, etc).

  • Develop, execute and document a methodic bidding and RFP process within corporate procurement guidelines and procedures. (Warehousing, Ocean, Dedicated, TL, LTL, Custom Brokers, Parcel).

  • Efficiently run bidding and RFP processes.

  • Negotiate commercial terms (i.e. rates, volumes, etc.) and contracts language that are in compliant with existing regulations, (including but not limited to environmental and trade) and that minimizes exposure.

  • Consistently interact with regional key stakeholders (i.e. finance and operations/transportation) and communicate of any change in contracted terms that impacts logistics' cost.

  • Ensure terms and conditions contracted with logistics providers (including but not limited to committed volume of business, pricing, and payment terms) are met.

  • Permanently evaluate industry macro trends to determine potential impacts on operations and initiates action to ensure potential risks mitigation. Analyze, track and forecast market conditions and provide management with recommended course of action.

  • Continuously benchmark rates and pricing with third party companies and identify and close gaps.

  • Develop and execute mode conversion analysis.

  • Create capacity planning and development.

  • Support as needed transportation budgeting process.

  • Manage business relationships with logistics providers and consistently communicates changes on business needs.

  • Support as needed transportation activities (QBR's, creation of metrics).

  • Develop best in class logistics provider's supplier base.

  • Identify and drive savings initiatives (rate increase mitigation).

  • STIG and SIX Sigma projects development and implementations.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field, APICS certification a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in Logistics Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal and visual communications.

  • Strong analytical and planning skills.

  • Ability to influence without authority.

  • Experience with TMS (transportation management systems), WMS (Warehousing management systems) and SAS (Software As a Service).

  • Spanish is a plus.

  • Travel: 30%

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-06T00:00 Responsibilities: * Management of transportation processing flow of truckload, LTL, and parcel * Daily management of domestic 3PL providers * Investigate and resolve any transportation issues/complaints with customer and carriers * Provide operational support by maintaining quality performance objectives, and assisting in cost control programs. * Strategically analyze transportation data in order to propose enhancements to the domestic supply chain * Manage the timely movement/event management of material from the North American supply base to the warehouse, and customers via truckload, less than truckload/container and parcel * Address OS&D issues timely while properly documenting root cause and corrective actions * Responsible for providing support and information regarding freight procedures, routing guides, vendor agreements relating to freight * Coordinate with suppliers, manufactures, warehouses and third party logistics providers for daily/weekly shipping requirements * Ensure suppliers, manufactures, and warehouses are shipping to schedule and following the routing guide * Ensure timely receipt of all shipping documentation for POD & ASN management * Communicate any transportation delays; liaison between 3PL and operations * Review new vendor routing guide agreements & provide analytical support on small parcel & LTL cost analysis * Prepare and review weekly 3PL cost & performance reporting * Oversee process to improve freight class and packaging master data in PCS from 3PL * Responsible for performing other duties as assigned Qualifications: * 3-5 years management experience in a transportation environment * Bachelor's Degree preferred, with a plus for Logistics or Transportation * Superior organizational and project management skills * Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Word and Excel * Strong communication skills (verbal and written) * Knowledge of transportation management systems * Organizational and time management skills * Positive & professional attitude * Ability to effectively participate as a team player * Ability to interact with associates and upper management Who We Are We've been around for a while, and we believe our continued success is due to the basic principles of recognizing and rewarding superior performance for individuals and teams.
