We are looking for a skilled Commodity Manager to join our Enterprise Inkjet Systems in Dayton, OH. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing global commodity procurement strategies that support the requirements of the business.

Essential Functions to include:

  • Ensure acquisition of materials to meet customer's needs and deliver on key metrics for the organization.

  • Support new product development by interacting with Engineering and Product Management teams.

  • Source, evaluate, and cultivate relationships with key suppliers accomplishing these goals:Continuity of supply to meet customer needs

  • Supplier performance of value added activities (i.e. design assistance, kitting, participation in cost reduction activities, kanban deliveries, etc.)

  • Synchronization of supply chain

  • Lead time reduction

  • Improved quality

  • Reduction in total cost of ownership

  • Work closely with suppliers and Supply Operations team to implement lean philosophies and techniques throughout the supply chain

  • Development and execution of supply agreements to govern relationships

  • Must be able to travel domestically/internationally

  • Comply with corporate business and purchasing policies and procedures

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years' prior experience working in relevant and comparable positions, with a proven track record in negotiation, global sourcing, cost reduction, project management, and development of supplier programs.

  • In-depth knowledge of procurement and contractual agreements

  • In depth understanding of lean manufacturing techniques and ERP systems

  • Strong project management abilities

  • Strong Negotiation skills

  • Strong team orientation with excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor

  • PC literate with emphasis on Microsoft Office and Outlook software

  • Ability to multi-task with high energy level (results-oriented)

Minimum Education Level:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent work experience. Master's degree preferred

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Prior experience with SAP Purchasing module; global sourcing experience
  • CPM
