Commodity Manager - Indirect Sourcing

Redmond, WA 98052 Job Duration: 6 Months (Contract to hire) Pay Rate: $54/hr to $55/hr Job Description: Primary Focus: Redlining and drafting contracts.

Role Scope: This is a strategic sourcing position, distinct from a typical buyer role. Contract Nature:

Focus on long-term contracts rather than creating quick purchase orders (POs). Reason for Opening: The company is experiencing a surge in volume and workload due to the push towards mass production next year. With the increase in satellite production, additional support is needed for the indirect sourcing team.

Mission: Objective: Support the indirect sourcing team through strategic procurement. Indirect Sourcing: Involves procuring essential goods and services that are not part of the direct production process (such as machine parts, tools, packaging, and certain services). Supplier Management:

Requires strategic negotiation with suppliers, focusing on long-term commitments, larger budgets, and optimizing supplier combinations to secure the best materials/services at the lowest cost. Key Responsibilities: Supplier Negotiations:

Handle both short-term and multi-year contracts. Supply Chain Oversight: Manage the delivery of supplies.

Contract Management: Draft and redline contracts. Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with engineers to determine machine parts and tools requirements. Supplier Sourcing: Identify and onboard new suppliers.

System Management: Operate through the client System, using tools like Smartsheet, JIRA, and Coupa. Qualifications: Experience: 5 years as a commodity manager (titles may include sourcing manager or procurement manager, especially with indirect sourcing experience). Strategic Sourcing:

Expertise in sourcing machine parts, tools, or engineering-related materials. Contract Negotiation: Proven experience negotiating long-term contracts.

Industry Background: Manufacturing experience and prior collaboration with engineers. Contract Expertise: 2 years of experience drafting and redlining contracts.

Preferred Qualifications: Indirect Sourcing: Strong preference for candidates with indirect sourcing experience (filling another open position in this area is also a possibility). Project Management:

PM experience is a plus. Aerospace Expertise: Familiarity with the aerospace industry or export controls.
