Role Summary:

In the role of Commodity Management Specialist, you will

negotiate with and manage dedicated suppliers in accordance with the processes

defined in the Middle River Aircraft Systems Sourcing Manual. You will achieve the best contractual

conditions, pricing & terms, while also ensuring internal customer

satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Commodity Management Specialist, you will:

  • Manage the entire life cycle of the supplier

relationship

  • Define, present & administer supplier

strategy to ensure best overall value is obtained, including consistent

delivery to schedule & quality requirements

  • Lead negotiations ranging from Long Term

Agreements to individual Purchase Orders, seeking input & direction from

functional management

  • Negotiate terms and conditions, ensuring proper

Sourcing and Legal approvals are obtained

  • Manage and lead claim negotiations and support special

projects as required

  • Monitor engineering change activity & ensure

any supplier impacts, such as contract terms, price, inventory, WIP, capability, capacity, lead times and any other circumstance that could affect the timely support of production and program cost targets is considered and properly vetted prior to acceptance of change.

  • Present to senior leaders in specific purchasing space on how purchasing contributes to overall strategy

  • Negotiate the best commercial and technical package for procurement requirements

  • Communicate and coordinate activities as required cross-functionally, including planning, engineering, quality, programs, finance, legal and manufacturing

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Sourcing)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
