Commissioning QA-QC Engineer will QAQC Manager help contractors prepare for startup, including reviewing startup schedules, review any impact that other contractors may have on startup. Assist project management team in keeping contractors startup dates on schedule. Position available in November of 2018

DUTIES

Individual will demonstrate thorough understanding of all systems requirements to perform startups. Including what predecessors have to be done prior to startups. What successors are ready to facilitate startup and allow for the performance operation of a particular system(s).

Implement and manage the QA/QC Program, Review and Approve subcontractor QA/QC Programs to ensure alignment with GC Program, Schedule and coordinate QC Specialists, Perform onsite inspections including UG Utilities, Conduct QA/QC Meetings, Ensure all subcontractors are following their approved QA/QC Plans, Perform onsite inspections of delivered Owner Furnished Equipment, Perform Punchlist Inspections. Must be proficient in Latista, word and excel.

Will participate in scheduling meetings to ensure startups are on schedule, if not on schedule will assist the construction managers in reworking schedule to an achievable start up date.

Will be responsible to ensure system is ready to operate in a safe manner, ensure all safety precautions are in place prior to any system being operated.

Individual must have sufficient skills and knowledge to understand that the contractor has performed all aspects of the startup.

QUALIFICATIONS: High tech Experience and five years of experience in similar position.

  • 50%. Sitting 50% Hands/Arms - constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use. Sight

  • Visual acuity in near, mid and far range vision. Hearing: sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment.

Speech sufficient to make oneself heard in person, and be understood over the telephone and radio.

Lift/carry - up to 40 pounds rarely. Climbing - no climbing required Bending/Twisting - minimal.

Mental Job Functions: Constant mental alertness, accuracy and attention to detail required.

Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments.

Must use independent judgment, and organizational and problem solving skills to determine best method to accomplish desired results.

Must be able to plan and organize work.

Most be able to read/write/speak English, and communicate with coworkers.

VIEW JOBS 1/10/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-10T00:00 Our Senior Facility Engineer/Area Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the workers who maintain and repair electrical, plumbing, ventilation, refrigeration, and other building systems within our distribution facility. You'll perform systems evaluations on facilities and determine what installation or repair services need to be performed, manage a budget, and create calculations to ensure operational efficiencies. You'll also assist in the hiring and training of workers and arrange their schedules and work activities. Areas of responsibility: * Assign and schedule work tasks with other facility technicians in a team-oriented environment and perform initial evaluations of building systems and distribute work assignments. * Evaluate team members' individual performances to ensure quality operations and investigate any and all accidents caused by team members and prepare relevant reports. * Work with the Maintenance Planning department to evaluate needs for all work requests—both scheduled and unscheduled—as well as any special projects that arise. * Coordinate and follow up on preventative maintenance on refrigeration units, plumbing, electrical, overhead doors, and any other mechanical systems. * Coordinate and assist in repairs involving basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. * Read blueprints and plan projects to complete assigned tasks, and coordinate and follow up on incidental carpentry, masonry, and painting and plaster work. * Review and maintain maintenance logs and maintenance budgets and complete any and all documentation necessary to the completion of a task. * Project Oversight * Act in the role of Commissioning Lead * Perform project punch list walkthroughs with construction lead(s) * Host Contractors performing work in area of responsibility as needed (schedule, access, security, materials) * Assist and participate in new construction project activities as subject/system expert * Participate in the FAT and OAT activities for new and upgraded systems * Utilize project planning/management skills to drive timelines and resources for key projects * Manage and Oversee Area Expense Budget * Participate in evaluation of cost reduction suggestions as area champion * Work with Procurement to execute the purchase of needed materials or services * Assist the O and M teams with support for operation, spares, and PM material acquisition as requested * Provide input to the budget as requested, accounting for any major maintenance work planned for completion in the upcoming periods as well as information supporting monthly variance items * Oversight of Assigned Area and Site Grounds * Utilize metrics to make informed decisions and evaluate past performance * Actively seek out opportunities to improve system performance and reliability * Participate and lead operational and cost efficiency projects/activities * Evaluate and approve Site Incident Prevention Program (SIPP) submissions * Provide support to customer areas * Work with supervisors to create area specific Technical Training as well as personally assisting with the training * Work with engineering and shift teams to review, validate, and/or develop procedures within area of responsibility * Participate in Continuous Improvement and Reliability Initiatives * Suggest and coordinate upgrades to obsolete equipment * Participate in focus groups with engineering and other disciplines * Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program as a core team member/leader * Analyze equipment performance to evaluate efficiencies * Area Operational Oversight * Respond to and track METS involving equipment/process failures within area of responsibility * Respond to and track Out of Conformance issues/events within area of responsibility * Act as the liaison between construction and the operations team * Act as the liaison between manufacturing and the operations team * Act as the liaison between engineering and the operations team * Support Safety, Environmental, Health, and Security Standard * Achieve and maintain 100% completion of assigned EHSS training * Perform safety analysis (Job Hazard Analysis) as required * Be proactive in reducing incidents of personal injury, safety hazards, or environmental releases * Evaluate equipment for ergonomic situations and work with engineering to reduce * Instruct team in how to dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with established OSHA procedures. #AF #AdvancedFacilities #Electrical #ToolInstall #Semiconductor #Manassas * Bachelors degree (4yr): Engineering, pref. industrial, mechanical or manufacturing engineering, may consider extensive additional experience in lieu * 10 yrs Industrial or manufacturing engineer experience working with complex mfg equipment * 3 yrs Manufacturing systems experience * 1 year: Lean manufacturing experience * Familiarity with AutoCAD, reading/interpreting drawings Please note that we will not sponsor and employment visa, such as an H-1B or related visa, to fill this position Jacobs Engineering Manassas VA
