Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Skilled Mechanical duties involving troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing natural gas engines, compressors, generators, turbines and/or other power driven equipment.

  • Inspect engines, compressors and mechanical equipment: diagnose problems and determine extent of necessary repairs; supervise and schedule repairs and routine preventative maintenance.

  • Detailed awareness of compressor components including: lubrication systems, shutdown systems, loading and unloading valves, pistons, valves and electrical systems.

  • Performing lockout/tagout, starting/stopping of equipment, and perform equipment checks.

  • Use of hand tools, power tools, and electronic diagnostic equipment

  • Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Must meet required production rate expectations.

  • Must adhere to company policies and procedures

  • Understanding of equipment repair manuals

  • Performs other functions/duties as required.

  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time.

  • Willing to travel on a International basis as required

Required education or minimum level:

  • High school education (GED)

  • Caterpillar certifications and credentials for commissioning

  • Waukesha certifications and credentials for commissioning

Experience:

  • 5 years industry experience preferred.

Software Knowledge:

  • Basic computer skills i.e. Microsoft office word Microsoft office excel

  • Cat ET

  • Waukesha ESM

Skills:

  • Must have experience with heavy mechanical, some electrical service, and mechanically inclined with the ability to trouble shoot, diagnose, inspect, advised, and repair. Must have the ability to learn and work independently

Mental Power: Ability to exercise judgment that is varied in terms of what and how work is to be done, as well as why it is done, within established policies and procedures.

Physical Power: Driving, walking, standing frequently arm/wrist/hand movement. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Has authority to allocate resources and make startup, commissioning, and testing decisions in accordance with Division Policies, Standards, Guides, and Contractual commitments. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Manages the process of construction completion turnover to startup, startup turnover to operations, and final turnover to the client. * Manages priorities and activities of startup staff. * Develops and maintains a detailed startup schedule and detailed set of startup packages to track Startup completion and progress. * Manages and maintains open communications and relationship with the client. * Responsible to managing and monitoring the Startup budget and man hours. * Develops clear startup procedures as required by contract to coordinate the startup effort. * Plans and prepares for startup activities and major milestones (chemical cleaning, steam blow, demonstration tests, etc.). * Implements a coordinated operations control program ensuring good communication and the smooth execution of operational activities. * Creates and implements controls process for spares, consumables, outstanding work, and material deliveries. * Coordinates the daily activities effecting and involving startup. * Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports. * Adheres to safety and quality standards as applicable to duties and accountability. * Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities which will add value. Champions continuous improvement efforts. Assesses and supports the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements. Proactively supports, encourages and facilitates staff to engage in continuous improvement activities. Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of startup experience, including one previous assignment as startup manager. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
