Commissioning Software Integration Engineer
Description
We are looking for a talented Commissioning Software Integration Engineer to join our team for our Accelera Business Unit in Fridley, MN. This position will involve extensive travel (greater than 50%) including being away as much as a month at a time at the customer site. Will occasionally involve some Saturday work.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
This applied technology position provides input into software updates that is sold as an integral part of Cummins' products. People in these positions will have involvement in specification, design, implementation, testing and/or release of software that controls the operation of Cummins' products in a variety of customer applications.
Investigates embedded software problems, understands causal mechanisms, recommends appropriate action, owns problem resolution and documents results.
Applies and improves embedded software development processes and tools. Processes include model-based development, coding, compiling and test. Tools include Simulink, code editors, integration tools, static analysis tools, compilers and hardware in the loop test tools.
Makes decisions in the areas of software requirements, architecture, design, implementation and test that impact the quality and performance of software subsystems and feature classes.
Leads the development and improvement of work processes and systems across a functional discipline area within a business unit site.
Operates as a recognized specialist in a discipline or product area within the immediate team.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
Experience
4 years experience as a Controls or Automation Engineer is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
Must be able to do greater than 50% travel to customer sites within predominately, the US. Must be able to do international travel.
Responsible for integration and communication interface of delivered hydrogen electrolyzer equipment within the control system of customer at customer site.
Responsible for ensuring the control system and HMI of electrolyzer units are functional as preparation for end-of-line testing in test facility as well as at customer sites with respect to commissioning.
Experience with industrial control and PLC/SCADA systems (Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC).
Experience with IT networks, servers and protection thereof (firewalls).
Demonstrate a tenacious personality and the ability to manage a high volume of customer needs at anytime.
Able to interpret schematic network and electrical diagrams and technical specification documents.
Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
Compensation
Salary Range: $84,800 - $127,200. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
