  • Provide the commissioning activities to qualify new applications and / or demonstrate with established application the performance of PALL systems with customer products and site specifics. Responsible for developing and implementation of analytical and performance testing, qualification reports as base for scale up of systems to industrial size.

  • Provide standard commissioning activities according to the contracts requirements to satisfy PALLs customers with On Time and On Quality performance to satisfy the customer's needs, Responsible for independently performing testing, commissioning, and service of Pall's Filtration and Separation Systems. Will be assigned to multiple projects. Will act as "Lead" for Commissioning and Service providing technical advice and solutions to mechanical and electrical contractors. Systems are generally integrated into a complete process system utilizing tanks, pumps, compressors, drives, automated valves, process analytical instrumentation interfaced to a PLC based control system with a graphical user interface front end.

Essential Job Functions:

  • 75 % Responsible for piloting of new applications and for standard commissioning, testing and troubleshooting all systems hardware including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation. Must implement design modifications in agreement with the Project Engineering Team and Change Control procedures

  • 20 % Responsibility for definition of the system logic work closely with the design engineering team.

  • 5% To participate in the project risk assessments and project kick off meetings.

Essential Qualifications/Education:

  • Relevant Background in Food & Beverage Industry as process engineer or equivalent is preferred (e.g.chemical process engineer, brew master, winemaker)

  • Relevant technical apprenticeship or craft equivalent is preferred

  • Technical Bachelor's degree is preferred

  • Cross trained in electrical / instrumentation / mechanical / process disciplines.

Knowledge & Key Skills:

  • Knowledge of filtration or similar process equipment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimum back-up when necessary

  • Ability to manage commissioning activities and the customer to complete activities at time

  • Resourceful and quick to learn new processes.

  • Well educated English language skills

Essential Previous Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.

  • Technical experience in a design office or similar environment.

  • Site work experience including installation, start-up, faultfinding, supervision, acceptance testing.

  • Multi-discipline work and supervision.

  • Highly Welcome: Knowledge in Siemens S7/TIA Portal or Allen Bradley-Rockwell Studio/RS-Logix Programming / Troubleshooting

  • Ability and willingness to work in a multinational and interdisciplinary team with a high degree on travelling, potentially on short notice

  • Must be prepared to work unsociable hours when required eg, overtime, shift work, weekend and holiday working.

  • Current driving license

  • Passport holder

  • Ability to travel at short notice home country and abroad.

  • Able to work away from home for extended durations (up to 8 weeks).

  • Work well alone or as part of a team.

  • Ability to integrate into international teams (Pall and customer), including understanding of cultural differences.

  • Very computer literate. Abilities include: email, office applications, drawing software. Project planning software.

  • Prepared to work in dirty or unpleasant environments.

  • Assignments will involve travel to specified sites (both domestic and international) to perform commissioning and service activities. Travel may take place on evenings or weekends as required to meet the customer's need. Travel schedules will be arranged as directed by the line manager and will be in accordance with the Pall Technology Services Group Travel Policy.

  • Responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with customer. While performing service, the engineer must make sound technical decisions to meet customer requirements while maintaining Pall's commercial interests. Independently resolves adverse situations constructively.
