Standard Supply & Lumber is looking for a skilled Commercial/Multi Family Estimator to join our team!

Standard Supply & Lumber has been providing high quality building materials to builders and homeowners in the West Michigan area since 1904. Dedicated to providing quality, value, and service, Standard operates multiple locations across Michigan. Standard is a division of U.S. LBM, one of the largest building products distributors in the United States.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Estimate materials required for framing, roofing, siding and trims per customer or print specs and local building codes

  • Read and interpret construction blueprints and drawings.

  • Must be able to accurately identify all framing components, hardware, hangers, hold downs, etc.

  • Operate single member sizing software to calculate joists, rafters, beams and headers

  • Correctly design complex rafter systems

  • Operate networked software, POS, Estimating and design software.

  • Provide support to customers and salespersons

  • Able to concentrate in a busy, shared office environment.

  • Positive attitude and interpersonal skills

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required, related tech degrees helpful

  • 5 years experience in commercial construction and building materials industry.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team, interpret blueprints and other tech materials

  • Significant math skills, ability to manipulate and fabricate Excel formulas

  • Project Management, Drafting or Engineering experience is helpful
