Job Description

Reporting to the PM Team Lead/APM Team Lead, the Commercial Portfolio Analyst primarily provides analytical support to assigned Portfolio Managers including analyzing financial statements and projections, utilizing financial models and applications, performing credit underwriting, recommending structure and developing and participating in credit presentations. Assist Portfolio Managers in various aspects of portfolio management including, but not limited to, review of financial information, completion of annual reviews and renewals, covenant testing collateral validation. Assist Portfolio Managers with researching and qualifying prospects and underwriting new opportunities. May participate in client support, as appropriate. Developing a working knowledge of SunTrust products, processes and risk tolerance.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field or an equivalent combination of education and commercial credit analysis experience.

  • Mastery level proficiency with MS Office Desktop applications.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and solid written communication are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of formal Commercial Banking Training program or one year of experience in commercial underwriting.

  • Proficiency with SunTrust bank operating systems inclusive of COMPASS and other Commercial applications (i.e. MRA,, CLO, CMT)

This role provides the opportunity to work alongside an energetic, high performing Cost Management team, as well as working closely with Estimating, Contracts, and Planning. This analyst would act as a point of contact and program resource for the team, providing guidance and support when and where needed. This position will also provide the analyst exposure to senior management. The analyst will also interact with Finance Management, Program Managers, IPT Leads, and Functional Finance Analysts on a regular basis to ensure the program meets its financial, schedule, and contractual commitments. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Management and forecasting of Cost, Orders, Sales, Profit, and Cash Flow; Providing guidance, training, and mentoring to other analysts on the team; Internal performance tracking; Budgeting contracts; Review of contract modifications; Monthly invoice submittal and tracking; Support to DCMA/DCAA inquiries; customer reporting (1921); and proposal support.
