Our mission is to make biology easier to engineer. Ginkgo is constructing, editing, and redesigning the living world in order to answer the globe's growing challenges in health, energy, food, materials, and more. Our bioengineers make use of an in-house automated foundry for designing and building new organisms. Today, our foundry is developing over 40 different organisms to make different products across multiple industries.
We are looking for a motivated, driven individual to maximize the value of Ginkgo's partnerships by helping to drive strategy for existing programs and execute new opportunities with existing partners. The Commercial Strategy & Operations Manager will work with our Head of Commercial Operations, our Chief Commercial Officer, and Ginkgo's external customers throughout all aspects of the contract execution period, and will assist with the internal and external coordination on all matters pertaining to existing contracts.
This role will be critical to the Ginkgo team by ensuring successful execution of our Ginkgo contracts and supporting the acquisition of new business opportunities in this sector.
Understand contracts, needs, and drivers of existing Ginkgo partners, and develop internal strategies to maximize the value of Ginkgo partnerships
Be responsible for the P&L for Ginkgo partnerships
Manage portfolio and customer dashboards for Ginkgo executives and Board
Develop and maintain relationships with partners by facilitating information transfer between partners and proactively resolving business, technical, and contractual issues
Create key Platform Delivery processes to maximize efficiency and update as needed
Coordinate onsite visits with Ginkgo clients and external parties
Conduct market assessment and business cases for new markets
Support commercial contracting and business structure negotiations
Expand business partnerships
Work internally with business, R&D, deployment, legal, and finance team members to ensure understanding and execution of partnership objectives
Document key deliverables as well as meeting minutes, quarterly committee meeting agendas, and presentations
Bachelor's degree in business or related field (MBA a plus)
At least three years of relevant work experience in consulting, biotechnology or related fields, preferably with at least one year of partner-facing experience
Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional collaboration and relationship-building skills with the ability to develop working relationships at all levels of management, both inside and outside of Ginkgo
Prior experience working in cross-functional teams
Strong communication (written and oral) and organizational skills
Superb attention to detail
